When I phoned on Friday the woman on the phone said that they were hoping to get all the sifting done over the weekend and e-mails were going out tomorrow for interviews or rejections.
I know people from my regions who have already had their scores back for days now, I'm hoping it's because my last name is almost the end of the alphabet, but maybe it's just wishfull thinking, I didn't do fantasticly well on the test, but surely if they wern't even going to look at my comps I'd have a had an e-mail saying so before now, it's just torture waiting to see and checking the website every 5 mins for any news

Not sure its that, my surname is in the first 5 letters of the alphabet and I have not been scored for West Scotland or NW England, although I have scores for Merseyside and East Scotland.0 -
I just wanted to ask to those have had an interview invite and have booked your slot..there are then links posted under the application status such as pension questionnaire, important info etc...has anyone had a problem with accessing these?
Just wondered because when I try to open any of them, the address bar just comes up with about:blank.0 -
Hi,
First post - but have been following this thread for a while. I applied in North London - got above 80% in online test, and 4,4,5,5,6 in the competency sift.
My question is when I filled out the application, I said yes to the guaranteed interview scheme (two ticks?) as I have a long term illness/condition that is considered applicable to this. I've never used the GIS before, and can find little about it within the DWP/Civil Service and how it's applied. Anyone know anything more about it?0 -

Only that if you meet the minimum criteria, you get a guaranteed interview. They don't appear to publish or make applicants aware of their minimum criteria, however. I've also used the scheme, and don't know any more about it than you do (have looked, though).
But your scores seem good. It appears tough to get 4+ for competencies, judging from the thread so far. Wish you luck.
Success/rejection emails will probably go out sometime next week. 0 -
All I will say about this recruitment drive is - I feel bl***y sorry for you in thinking of working for the DWP, never mind the Civil Service!
Done my years with the CS and like most of the people I know couldn't wait to get out with a pension at 60.
Awful organisation now - too politically bent. Targets coming out of your ears, and having to ask permission to have a p**s!!
Even back in the early/mid 60's when I joined, the DWP as it is now but was the DHSS, was the one place that nobody wanted to be posted to!
The Civil Service used to be a fantastic. Time off/freedom/make your own decisions/tea, coffee etc.
Good luck to any that get the job!!! You will need it0 -
Finally ive registered... Still waiting for Black Country, Staffs on hold since last week, Brum scores 4,3,3,4,3. Brum scores were disapointing if you take into consideration i was on FTA last year. Comps were also used in the interview and app for that recruitment. But it now seems as if i dont have what it takes to work for DWP. Wow!!! The whole thing is frustrating, i refuse to take it as a reflection of my abilitys. I did get some feedback which advised me i did not put enough information in. 200 words to give a scenario what happened how it happened and what the conclusion was... and to tick all the boxes on the comp info. hmmm i would like to see the people that gave such low marks write something better.. Oh well i guess thats the way the cookie crumbles.. Just at to have my little moan.. sorry if youve heard it all before. veryyyy frustrating!!!0

C/S is still a cushy number in comparison to private companys. Ive worked at both and no which one i would rather work for.
I think its just a sign of the times and companys want as much as they can get from their workforce. Sign of the times!!!0
