  • What is a WUM? I've been a member on here for years and I don't know, so how does that prove the OP isn't a long term user?

OP, I think you really need to bite the bullet and go for it. yes it will be hard, but you have to make the first step to recovery no one can do this for you.

    Good luck

  • WUM - Wind up merchant perhaps? possibly commonly known here as a troll....?

OP its crap when people dont understand exactly how you feel. Ive been in a similar situation myself but you have the chance to get help, go for it! If your gong to have a panic attack, then i can think of worse places than outside a hospital to have one ;) all joking aside, you have the chance to get some quality of life back, go for it,get every single bit of help you can to get you through this. You've already said that something has gone wrong and that you need help. No one there will judge you,be strong, get through that hospital door and dont look back. Good luck!
    ;)

Try to just accept that you are going to feel crap!, (panicky) I know its a horrible, horrible feeling :(

Try to figure out what time you think you will be home by, ie 2.30pm, and keep reminding yourself that by 2.30pm you will be sat at home on the sofa have a nice cup of tea. :) and every minute you are getting closer to that time.

    :)

Oh believe me I am. I don't frequent this board as often as some of the others. I tend to help those financially, as that is one of my expertise.

I have read some of your drivel before though, I assure you.
Perhaps the detail of the number of posts was really counterproductive. As is the hint of where you normally reside. It would be rather a clever windup against someone, to post details which indicate Mental Health issues and just keep on dropping in details which point at the individual.

I am not going to state a view on your bona fides, but please appreciate the dilemma of everyone posting on this thread as to whether to post and inadvertently support someone having a go at a long standing poster or not to post and deny that long term poster some help.

If you are who you say you are, go to your appointment. If you are not that person, then get an appointment anyway for whatever is prompting you.

I can assure you that I am who I said I am. I don't intend in identifying myself, because sadly Mental Health is still frowned upon by many in society. By simply mentioning a post count etc this could be 1 of a couple of hundred on MSE. I hate trolls and I can only assure you that I am genuine. I mentioned posts (rightly/wrongly) because I felt it might give me a bit more credibility. In hindsight it has nothing to do with it.Thanks
  • Do you want to carry on like this, not doing anything other than get stressed on internet fora, or do you want to get better?

If it's the second, then you'll go.

If it is the first, and you'll actually rather comfortable with your wife and everyone around you making allowances, then you won't. But you may find you don't like the consequences if your wife is already at 'her wit's end'.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
