Alliance and Leicester

I received a E-mail today from 'Alliance and Leicester' (not even a customer) asking for bank details. ANTONE ELSE had anything like this? Is it a scam?:mad:

    I seem to get at least one of these emails a week from one pretend bank or another. Its just junk. :)

    Yes, it's a "phishing" scam. I've had a similar A&L one before. The A&L website advises you to forward it to [EMAIL="suspiciousemails@alliance-leicester.co.uk?body=Please note that this email address is for reporting suspicious emails only. For any other queries, please refer to the 'Contact us' section of the website or the 'Help' section of Internet Banking. Please be aware that you will not receive a reply to this email."]suspiciousemails@alliance-leicester.co.uk[/EMAIL]

  • No bank or financial institution will ever email you or call asking for your account no etc. Don't ever give it out in those circumstances.

    There are ebay/paypal ones on the go too. Bin them.

    from my experiences with A&L, I would say even if it is from them then its still a scam
