No way.
Not since a woman lost her young son in a fire 2 streets away a few years back. She only popped to a friends house a few doors down.
But, each to their own. If thats what she wants to do with her son, it has nothing to do with you and you need to stop worrying about it - there is nothing you can do.
course there is something OP can do.
speak to this woman again, find out more, is she struggling with motherhood/needing support/help or just stupid, in which case report her even,
its disgusting,irreesponsible behavior.0 -
My SIL had her children removed from her care for doing this & children's services found out. A neighbour had called the police as baby was crying for a bit and they found kids home alone. SIL was arrested and children put into custody of their grandparents!0

no it isnt, there is no law age wise about when children can be left
however, the OP is an absolute no no and im surprised that she felt so casual about telling you, shows she has no idea about the risks involved0 -

Personally, I wouldn't.
I can understand if the shop was right next door but to be away for 20 minutes (minimum) is just too long. Everything may have been fine so far but who knows what or when that could change.
