Thanks so much for all the supportive comments. I do feel such a fool to be honest. Obviously I had heard about the administration but as the stores continued to trade I just didn't act quick enough. Was going to treat myself today !!! You live and learn and win and lose !!!

I won't give up however, as far as I'm concerned that gift card is worth 100 quid and I'm going to fight !!!!

Don't feel a fool! We weren't to know - how could we? I think it's outrageous they can treat good/loyal customers this way. They've taken our money and given us nothing in return! You bought those vouchers in good faith! They should honour them!

Grrrr... I'm so mad right now!!!

It might be worth having a read of MSE's Administration Help article.

I've just got back from La Senza in Westfield and I'm in a similar situation. I feel slightly more cheated however because the gift voucher I was trying to use wasn't purchased - it was given to me 2 months ago by the store manager when I came to return a FAULTY ITEM.

As the item was faulty I was well within my rights to receive a full refund but they were unable to process it at the time and offered me a gift voucher instead. I knew I was going to shop there again so I told them I didn't mind (more fool me!!) :(

It clearly states on the receipt that the item I returned was faulty - surely I'm entitled to a refund? (or an exchange at least!) Can anyone offer me any advice on what to do?
    Thank you in advance.

PS. I feel for you Bestbabo!!! It’s really out of order they can do this to customers!! We haven't done anything wrong!

You're not entitled to anything - the company is in administration. If you got the vouchers in exchange for faulty goods it's unfortunate, but doesn't change your position.

The purpose of administration is to bring as much cash in from the business as possible to pay creditors - and although cruel the way they see it is 'they've given the money for the vouchers, now do one'. They want cash over the counter for goods in store now - not vouchers.

    Sorry.

Edit: Just double checked, and all remaining stores are now closed or to be rebranded. To anyone with vouchers, unless you can claim off your Credit or Debit card for a recall of the payment, you are stuffed.

It's unfortunate, and I got mine from La Senza so know how you feel, but at least you had 2 months to spend yours. Anyone who got them for Christmas won't have had any chance to redeem them before they went into administration.

As said, the reason you have the voucher makes no difference. Claim back against your credit or debit card for the original payment - you shouldn't have a problem if you explain.

A faulty item from La Senza? Oooer ;):D
  • BIG thank you to everyone for your advice!! I've just got off the phone to my bank and and they're going to investigate for me. It seems you have a pretty good chance of getting your money back if you paid with a credit card, or possible even a debit card. Certainly more likely than getting anything from the administrators!

GOOD LUCK Bestbabo and and anyone else in the same pickle!! :)

  • It should also be pointed out that I doubt La Senza maliciously issued vouchers to people knowing they wouldn't get to spend them!

As has been said, they're in administration; the only people with a say over the companies goings on are the administrators. In La Senza's case, and with all due respect, how they treat their customers is largely irrelevant - they won't be around for people to 'never shop there again"!

I tried to purchase vouchers late last year as christmas gifts and La Senza refused saying 'they were having problems with them at the moment' and thank goodness they said that.

  • Does anyone know where I stand on this please?
I had a £15 voucher and spent another £10 on line to buy from the wesite.
Delivery came on monday 9th (day of administration) and the delivery guy said 'sorry you cant actually have this, is says do not pass over parcel to customer and I will have to take it back to the depot!'
And since then obviously no customer service or any help from anyone. Delivery company wont give it to me and La senza doesnt exist.
Super anoying as it was a xmas gift and I had to put extra towards it.
