sorry to go off topic but the redirection system is useless
my sister has had several importan letters redirected when it should come to her all because they cant read the first name on letters-and as she isnt the one who set it up it was her ex husband theres nothing she can do about it
its highly annoying and to be told we'll give you some stamps to compensate isnt good enough reallytWhat goes around-comes around0 -
If you have such a problem with RM why arn't you having all your post delivered/sent by courier?
Changes are happening within the organisation, not for the better I might add. The staff on the ground arn't happy and have'nt been for a long time. But not to worry their won't be a national postal service in the next 5/10 years. It'll be split up like the trains/buses and then you won't know who to complain to about your redirections
What nonsense!
Why not DRIVE everything to where it's going myself!!? I PAY for a service I don't get - being a state MONOPOLY means there is no realistic choice. I have been waiting for YEARS for them to be privatised; at LAST it's going to happen. As for complaining - it can't possibly be ANY worse than trying to make a complaint to or against Royal Muckup. I definitely don't care about the poor old posties - about time someone upset them since many don't do a decent job and those who do no doubt get no thanks for it or have long gone. Management is totally unprofessional and incompetent. However, the OP has a problem and complaining to (or suing) Royal Mail won't resolve it. Tackling the dealer should - whether it really was caused by good old Royal Muckup or not.0 -

Were the letters addressed to her only?If so I would be contacting the delivery office from where they are being sent and complaining. If they have her name on and the husbands they cannot be redirected.
yes just her name on it and three seperate times it happened-they apologised said it wont happen again and sure enough it did-and the other way round she was getting his post aswell
its a crap systemWhat goes around-comes around0 -
If you do your homework you will know that RM lost its MONOPOLY in 2006. So feel free to use other services
Hopefully they'll lose their ability to cause chaos to mail delivery services for the 99% of the population who are effectively forced to use them and no longer be able to take no notice of customers, take money from people without providing what they are paid to do and see much of their income and business go elsewhere as soon as their is a viable alternative as opposed to the ridiculous current situation suggested by you.0 -

Anyway Mr Meldrew I will leave you to ponder on our postal service and leave it at that as you obviously have issues with it. Makes me wonder why you being an owner of this once fine company is doing nothing about it!0 -
my aren't you the little temper tantrum
I was going to write ourt a reply on why you are wrong on RMs systems
however given your views and you are obviously busy digging through my posts,I'll leave you to it and you will probably find it while digging away

I am amazed at the mess that has been made of this simple thread/situation.
Again, send the LBA to the dealer and sue if they don't pay. I believe youwould have every chance of winning should they go to court (which i doubt) since you have proof of delivery. It is up to THEM to prove otherwise - and that will be extremely difficult where YOU have proof of delivery by Royal Muckup.
Thanks, and I completely agree with you in regards to the mess this has been made into, most people are genuinely trying to help and give me advice, then there are the 'others' who seem to have taken my situation as a personal attack!
Just to let you know, I called the RM again as I said I would to the guy at cash4phones, and they are adamant (as I thought they would be) that any liabilities are the responsibility of the mobile phone company. So I have posted an LBA and will just have to wait and see what they come up with.
I will not give up on this, I am determined to get some kind of recompense from this whole sorry mess, and the words "you live, you learn" are the closest I can think of to describe the situation! Thanks again for your advice, I will let you know what the outcome is, eventually!0
