We lost our internet over night do to a bouncy d.d :o but I'm back! :j

Happy Belated Birthday to everyone I missed :o I'm not very good at commenting on people posts but I do think about you all :)

Even though I haven't finished all the jobs our house looks and feels a lot better. I'm actually feeling quite calm considering it's been a very stressful week.
The car is still in the garage :( sounds like it wasn't just the clutch going. Something about a rod going through the cover ??? I won't get it back 'til Tuesday and it's going to cost about £350 _pale_ thankfully my parents are paying.

My mum asked me if DD1 wanted a job doing a bit of cleaning at their house  To be honest DD1 is a lazy cow and isn't at all interested in getting a job anywhere doing anything
So I suggested that I do a few hours there a week to start paying back all the money I owe them :o She didn't say yes and she didn't say no but I think I'll start tomorrow and do a blitz a room a day.
My parents house is far from messy and it's not "dirty" it's just things like they're not able to move the sofas to hoover under or behind. Same with the tv unit and high shelving.
I had promised that I'd help her declutter and CS loads of stuff so we'll start on that as well.

    Jobs to do

Sort that drawer/box where you stash the junk (coffee table drawers) - WIP
    Wipe LR picture rail
Sort out household budget - WIP :(
meal plan - found my old one :)
Its hump day so have some me time
Clear and wipe coffee table - WIP
Declutter anything that doesn't belong in this room - DD's stuff bagged for when they get home
Wipe the outside of your front/back door
Change any dead light bulbs/batteries - NEEDED
HH doing any mending or crafty things

Friday - Bedrooms one and all
    Level One
    Hoover
    Level Two
    Tidy the bookshelves
    Level Three
Hoover under somebodies bed looking for hidden treasure
Catch up on any laundry - one load on, another to do
    Extras

    HH reading, magazine flicking
Find 5 things you can ebay on the next free listing weekend, photograph and work out postage now - Things been put into a bag, not photographed etc yet

We found a leak coming from the washing machine and it has gone into the carpet in the room next door ie under the skirting. We have pulld everything back to let it dry have the radiator on and the window open but the smell is awful. Can anyone suggest a quick way (we don't have a dehumidifier) and when it is dry we have some mould patched to treat, any suggestions? The carpet was here as the show home so if we have to replace then we won't be out of pocket but I would rather keep what we have.

Anyway we have now replaced the washer  and have done a load with no dripping.

  • Hi Mudbath and Hex, nice to be back.

A few bits of flying done this morning:
    Wm x 2
    Tdx 2
    Girls & dh did dw
    Swept & mopped kitchen
    Cleaned kitchen sink
    Wiped surfaces

Had my mum & dad round for lunch, they've gone now so we're just having a little chill out.

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday.
  • Good afternoon :D

I did 1 hour studying, have shuffled the WM/TD and that is all dry & folded. I have also done a food shop (which I still need to finish putting away) and started reorganising the kitchen cupboards. It is still WIP, so I can't see the worktops!

I still need to make my bed, and walk the dog (before dark). My mum has turned up with DD2, so I have told her (DD2!) to finish putting away the shopping while we have a cup of tea.

Washing sorted... First load in, two more lined up. Most of it will go in the TD and hopefully the rest will dry overnight. House is very dusty, but with more electrical work and drilling being done tomorrow it seems a waste to clean it today, so am concentrating on what is worth doing.

Mrs C - who's the author you're looking for? I just sorted a bag of books for the CS.

Rosie Thomas (got 'Iris and Ruby' on kindle) and Reginald Hill. Thanks, Valli.

Slow start today as I felt a bit worse for wear from last night. :o Pancakes with DS2 and coffee for brunch :D and have read with him. Rest of today will be school stuff, urgent paperwork, sorting tea (no idea what we're having) and a couple of HHCs decluttering. ETA And dealing with the mountain range grouped around Mt Washmore!

    Back later. x

ETA Happy Birthday hollyh! Hope OH and DSs are spoiling you and you're having a lovely day.
  • Went into town with DD2 - helped her sort photos for driving licence application.

Then went to New Look and got her 2 tops for a fiver:j:j.

And finally we looked in fatface - where the cord jeans I wanted were in the sale - down from £48 ( and beautiful as thay were I was not paying that!) to £20! And when I got to the till they were £15!!! - Less than a third of the original price!

And I bought a size 14 - AND THEY FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do so love Slimming World!

Am now back ironing to old episodes of the Sweeney!
