  • Teaparty done - why is it that bone china & little cakes puts such smiles on people's faces? Great fun, and a really cheap afternoon function to do.

Chilling with a glass of vino, and writing a to do list for a function next weekend, no flying until tomorrow.

Cannot believe it - for the first time in.......years -let's just say it's in double figures- my land of lost dresses aka built-in wardrobe is reclaimed!!!!!! Did 15 minutes spurts to-day - chucked stuff out, other stuff to cs and kept going and it's done - I keep going upstairs to look at it adoringly!!! I have been at it for more than a week now!
Having a glass of vino to celebrate!!! This thread has changed my life - I feel alive for the first time in ages. Hugs to all for birthdays and those feeling under the weather.

Been AWOL for far too long, but I have been flying, just not had chance to log on.

Rather than update a list I'm just going to list what i've done (purely psychological for me as it makes me realise I've done ok today)!

    Wm x 2
    Td x 1
    Tidy master bed
Wipe surfaces & paintwork in master bed
    Vacuum master bed & stairs
    Hhi

A big well done to dd1 (age 9) as she has:
    Done homework
    Tidied bedroom
    Vacuumed bedroom
    Dw (empty & refill)
    Wipe table & surfaces
And best of all she made dh and I a coffee in bed this morning! What a good girl she's been today.

Just sat with a vodka & coke & a Cadbury's caramel already in my pj's ready for a chilling out Saturday night. Hope everyone else is having a good night too x

Eta: Happy birthday to Miss A & Kaz - hope you've both had a lovely day.
  • Just did a s&s of the kitchen today - was out and was delighted to arrive back to a tidy house!! Tomorrow going for a project - my very messy larder.

Hopefully next weeks flying will be easier- now that there isn't the long time build up of mess

Ooops, budget first - otherwise I won't dare to buy anything.

Good job I did this - I was right to be cautious. :(

DS2 and I just managed to get to the bank. We had fun looking around the market and sat on a bench inside with a take away coffee from the bakers for me and some buns. :D Much cheaper than the fancy cafe and at least as nice. The 2nd hand book stalls helped me save money, too, as I couldn't find any books by the two authors I was looking for. DS2 had hoped to buy some skylanders figures, but they are still as rare as rocking horse poo.

We stopped at Mr M's on the way home and I even remembered to take paper and Christmas cards for recycling. :T
Time to tidy the kitchen, make the beds up and have a bath. Must also keep feeding WM and TD. I don't know yet if I'm out tonight, as DS1 has gone out in a huff. I don't really mind, tbh. It's cold out there.

Mrs C - who's the author you're looking for? I just sorted a bag of books for the CS.

More belated happy birthday wishes forKazwookie and Miss A

I was most impressed with Uncle Bulgaria's post. I've printed it out and put it in my household file.

The house isn't looking too bad. It's hard to carry on flying when you have poorly littlies. DS3 is better, DD2 is improving but DS1 now has it.

DD1 has been told that she has no hours from 28th Jan. she babysat for my friend last night to earn £40 (it was a late one). She is focused and determined to get some temping work until she gets put back on the roster. The boyfriend wasn't impressed she blew him out for babysitting. She gave him a few home truths!

Today will mainly consist of washing, ironing and cooking a roast for 11.

I hope everyone has a nice day
