How / Why did you chose your wedding date?

We chose the 2nd June 2012 because it marks the 2 year anniversary of our engagement, which, in turn, marked our 18 month anniversary. Nice and easy to remember, and also HM government decided to give us an extra bank holiday, so generous!0

I want to wait til my youngest daughter is walking, and my elder one a bit older and hopefully out of tantrums, so 2013 was the earliest. DBF was born on his parents wedding anniversary on the 5th April, but my youngest daughter was born on the 6th April which falls on a Saturday in 2013 (she'll be 2) also the middle weekend of the school holidays (he's a teacher). This way he will be off to look after the kids the week before while I have beauty treatments etc, and off the week after so we can grab a couple nights away in a hotel. Still can't chose between 5th or 6th though. Venue is same price either day (a golf club function room)0

Our date (08/06/12) has no special meaning to either of us. We literally chose it as we won our wedding, and the terms state that it can only be taken Monday - Friday. I have 2 little sisters in school and one in college, and lot of family friends have kids in school, so term time was out. So there was only a few school holidays we could choose. We wanted it asap (we can take the prize anywhere between 1st Jan 2012 and 31st Dec 2012), so chose the first school holidays, and then OH's sister was on holiday the Monday - Thursday, so it was Friday
In all, we arranged our date around other people, but hey, its worked out perfect
It means my family that are coming from afar, can make a weekend of it

We chose 29th February. Always wanted to be married on that date and like to be differentMarried 29th Feb 2012 :beer:Determined to lose lbs and save £'s
30 day shred started 4th June 2012 - Days completed 15 :eek:0 -
when we first starting talking seriously about getting married and actually getting around to some serious saving, I originally wanted 10 Sept as this was the date we met (all 10 years ago!). however as we have always wanted a Saturday wedding, that date fell last year
no chance of saving and paying for that in time so...
we (...I
) chose our date of 20 Oct 2012. our son starts full time school in Sept this year and as we are taking him on our honeymoon, I didn't want to take him out of school for too long a time so arranged it around the October half term hols - getting married the week before half term, then would only be taking him out for the week before and the week of half term...although saying all that we haven't even booked or saved enough for a honeymoon yet so who knows!
(also October gave us enough time to save)

We had a casual conversation after a few drinks on holiday in October 2010 and decided we wanted to get married. We chose the 20th of October 2012 as it will be the Saturday closest to our 11 year anniversary, and at the time 2 years seemed like so far away we wouldnt have to fuss around with planning any time soon................that year and a half has been the fastest ever!:j Marrying the man of my dreams on our 11 year anniversary - 20th October 2012 :j0

All the Saturday's were taken at our venue and I loved the idea of marrying on the Autumn equinox and with the stunning weather we had, it tied in beautifully with our sense of our own personal Indian summer of our lives.
That is my birthday! We got engaged on easter sat in 2011 and I had told him many moons before that the engagement can not last more than 12 months! So we get married easter Saturday this year 07/04 2012.0 -
