:rotfl::rotfl: I poked myself in the eye ferreting a receipt out from a bush yesterday. I've often had to restrain myself from diving into the SS bins...like the excuse though
Oh wow, I remember going to the Blists Hill Victorian town when I was at primary school, I think we were on a week's visit to North Wales, what a beautiful area.
When i was little, my mom worked there in the offices so me and my sis spent every day of every holiday roaming around the museum and often got to help with the horses and pigs. We used to spend forever playing in the old mines but they have been closed off due to health and safety. Some numpty tried to climb where they shouldnt, hurt themselves and sued! If it was quiet we could dress up and pretend to be old fashioned as my sis called it! If we did a good job with the horses we were always given some cherry drops from the olde sweet shop, before it fell off the hill! Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -
OMG OMG morning everyone
Shaking here with disbelief, dunno if anyone remembers me mentioning a mystery ssa payment into my bank account.....well just off the phone with them and it seems theres been an error in my Carers allowance payments for 6 YEARS and they just back paid me:eek::eek:
So a couple more phonecalls and I will be debt free for the first time in my adult life!!!! And still have some left over......so drinks on me in HCs bar tonight
FANTASTIC NEWS sharon - make sure you treat yourself hun ...... you really deserve it as I know how debt drags you down, always there in the background ..... but you are now deft free :T :T :T :T6 years? Sounds suspiciously like the statute of limitations to me. They may have been underpaying before that...
that's what I was thinking. Make sure you get paperwork giving the calculations and then query if any further underpayment occured prior to this and is due to be paid back to youDopey_Sleepy_Grumpy wrote: »Tailor-made Tescos! Don’t think they have thought this one through too well.
Thanks DSG :A It wouldn't be the first time they hadn't thought things through would it?????? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
bensonsmum - I am sure that FiL will enjoy his carrot cake and beer, but most of all having you, his DS and Brother there with him
fudge2 - you asked about the spend required for £4 off £40 when using a £5 off £40 on current spend and I can confirm that I used a £5 off £40 off my £40.06 spend on Saturday, and got another £5 off £40 with my receipt

Mharzuk – hope your DD had a fantastic 17th birthday today.
And before I forget, evening all, hope you have had a fantastic day and are enjoying your evening.
I'm impressed at your depth of knowledge DSG, I have trouble keeping up with reading the thread without remembering who needs words of encouragement, sympathy, or some other general comment to let people know you are paying attention. It's people like you that make this thread work so well and give it such a family atmosphere :T
Now to answer the specific, yes she seems to have had a good day. Mainly money from me this year. I know I'm doing something right when she tells me she is putting it straight in the bank because she can't think of anything she needs to buy :eek:Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can
