Yes, Know what you mean. November is normally my low month but January this year is not as forward looking as normal. Glad to see you are resisting the wine, giving your liver a bit of a rest:)

For summer hols we are looking at the Dordogne/Lot but as usual have left it a bit late to get the choice of Gites at reasonable prices. Never been to that part of France before as it's very popular with Brits and prices reflect it

I think the unseasonbly mild winter has kept mine at bay for longer than usual. Paying for it now though I think.

Dordogne sounds nice actually. As you say a lovely area of France....apart from having so many French people there of course! :rotfl:

Thats really cheap for easter stuff to be selling at before easter! Were the SELs showing that price, or did you find out the prices when you went to pay?

I remember a similar post before haloween, about net bags of chocolate eyeballs going throuigh at 5p. Went the next day only to find out haloween stuff had not been put out in the shop, and I was too early to ask for it (ironically they had started putting Christmas stuff out at the point though!:rotfl:)

LOL, Hate when christmas stuff comes out, reality then hits that i have to actually spend money! Yes the Sel said 5p for the decorating kits and 7p for the disney gliders. Also had those things to secure flat screen tv's to the wall for 99p! (not brackets, just the cables to stop them tipping). I cant get pics up or i could show you what to look out for.

Actually I like the French:o> despite our long standing "relationship" I've just been reading a book called "1000 years of Annoying the French" by Stephen Clarke. It's a bit heavy on historical fact but dispels many of the myths that have grown up and does history in a very funny style:). Also, as a french speaker I enjoy holidaying there as I can get a bit more from my holiday instead having to wave my hands about a lot and shout:rotfl: I love going to the Brocantes (Car boot equivalent) and being able to barter in French. My favourite repost to prices is "peut etre que je suis anglais, mais je ne suis pas fou" which roughly translates as " I might be English, but I'm not mad!":rotfl::rotfl:

Or roughly translated, "don't you know I'm a friend of Martins"....:D

Oh did I say I had a nice bounty with the drinking chocolate. Nice it was too!!! :)

Actually I do have a craving at the moment for a plate of home made chips....but at 1.45 I really should resist such temptations! :D

Oh, do I get my next medal at 2000 or 2500 posts?

I usually keep my eggs in the fridge as they will keep a bit longer, I used eggs today, that were best before 6th Jan (after a quick check in a jug of water to see if they were still ok). You can store them either way, so it's entirely up to you and how quickly you intend to use them :)

Sorry, catching up very randomly tonight/this morning. Just a question here about eggs in the fridge. I've always thought that eggs shouldn't be kept in the fridge as they are porous and will absorb flavours/smells from other items in the fridge. Does it make any difference?
