I'd not previously been to the one i went to this morning, and it was a lot smaller than it looks, so i'm going to the bigger one tomorrow. Will probably have been cleaned out by the time i get there but you never know :-)
Someone keeps mentioning Ricola sweets so I think they must work under the vitamins/herbal 3 for 2 plus entitling you to the free shot. Worth keeping in mind if they're out of cheap vitamins! Thanks OP!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

DtD made it too easy. It is a great way to actually tot up your spending. It's easy to lose track but think you are doing well. This way you see exactly what your outgoings are.
It makes you use up those items in the cupboard/pantry and freezer too that need using up. It also makes you google up recipes with certain ingredients you have found lurking on the back of shelves. The folk on the thread are fab as well and will readily come to your aid if you have a question.
Well done midwinter :T0 -
Thanks for all your great ideas, lots of different uses for them!:)
Whats the best way of removing the last of the candle wax?
Now another question!
Are the plastic flip top boxes that Persil capsules come in, suitable for storing food in the fridge or freezer?
This is the box I am on about.

Last question.
Is the HC bar open yet, or am I too early?:D
I wouldn't think so, best to use them for clothes pegs or something. But you can double check, you need to find the 'food grade plastic' symbol, which looks like this.....

Could you use it in a cupboard for little packets of things that get accrued? Little packets of herbs/spices. As long as it is all well wrapped I cant see too much of a problem as a cupboard thing, but i wouldnt use them in a fridge or freezer

Afternoon/evening all
Not been shopping at all today. Went for a lovely walk along the River Dart this morning with the dog. It was beautiful....love mornings like that!
Cooked lunch and made an apple pudding which we are just going to have with some whoopsied finest cornish custard and a nice cuppa. Had a lazy afternoon catching up with last weeks episode of The Hotel. I keep looking out for someone I know....but not recognised anyone yet!grumpys1daughter wrote: »Havent caught up yet so dont know if this has already been answered but got some robinsons small jars of mincemeat 10p each in sainsburys there was also some of their own brand in a large tub for 10p to hth xx
A little bit of micemeat is lovely in an apple pie or crumble....or even just with some stewed apple and custardMy husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -
I could be absolutely wrong
No mention in book re pale green label. If it is a seconds - I can spot the fault if Jumble Jack wants me too
I originally bought a lot of my collection from Portmeirion itself in their factory shop in early 80's. These were either seconds or 'one offs' or samples but all have the proper labelling.
Recently I've bought seconds from T K Maxx & again labelling the same
Thinking about the Seconds labelling - would they not know it was a Seconds until after it had been fired & then the flaws would show up?
I think JJ and I may have seen the same website, which says:
"This information is gleaned from the excellent book "Portmeirion Pottery" by Steven Jenkins and Stephen P McKay, published in 2000, and from information obtained directly from Portmeirion Potteries."
Is that the book you are using? Interestingly,it also shows a a backstamp for pottery produced in the Welsh factory? near Portmeirion which shows a dragon, porthmeirion and cynnyrch cymru:) (I must learn how to post links:o)Awaiting a new sig0 -
