    Evening all :)

Thanks for the reply Caz, would have responded last night but my connection died after I posted. Not got many options at the moment, we don't have any family at all here, but I think I'm going to look into getting her into somewhere else. It sounds awful to say, but I've always had somehting in the back of mind about the place she is at the moment, I just couldn't put my finger on what it was, iykwim. Shall start researching tomorrow and see what I can find.

We live in the same area LFB so I hope you don't mind me commenting - you can phone the local Council and ask them to forward the list of registered child minders in the area to you - I think they can e-mail it. I have an idea of the nursery you are referring too and my sister had the same concerns about it but funnily enough my neice loved going there. Hope you can get something sorted out soon. It's no fun when you are worrying about your children when you are at work.

well, it was an interesting shopping trip this morning. Bought a stock pot as i need one for all the currying i plan in doing, and also for when i batch make loads of soup as well.

Went to T, didnt get anything glitchy but did get some oat so simple of half price, some uncle bens boil in the bag rice which used to have 10 packs in, now only 8 and still more expensive than it was 6 months ago!

Then i went to Boots. Now here is where I get really confused!

    Haliborange- £3.59
    HRC Clear complexion- £3.59
Bts Revitalise shot £1.99 now .00
    Saving £1.99
    ***link save***
    (includes previous Hrcclearcomplexn)
Brs ReEnergise sht £1.99 now .00
    Saving £1.99
    (Includes previous Haliborange)
    (Includes previous Bts Revitalise sht)

    Saving now £1.99 now -1.99

    Bts Garlic Cap 60's £1.59

    Total to pay 6.78

    Total Saving today £5.97
Can anyone pick the bones out of that one for me please? I can see that it worked to some extent, but they only had 2 shots, and 1 of those was out the back, so is only having 2 shots what went wrong?

Yes you needed 3 shots and 3 vitamin products so you've missed out on the second 3 for 2 because you only had 5 products not 6, you've also done yourself out of a saving on the vitamins in that your 3rd pack was £1.50 not £3.50. But you have saved the £1.99 of the shot instead of the £1.59 of the vitamins.

Lesson here I think is that, as Boots stagger their prices, you need to make sure your groups of vitamins (in 3s) are all above or all below the £1.99 of the shot, to get the best deal. Think I've worked that out right :o

So does a half price sticker mean the SA will manually reduce the price by 50% at the till? I thought it would be that the bar code would have 50% off and removing the sticker would not make any difference anyway.
as i started this i'd better answer you. the sticker had a new barcode hth

Thanks- i clocked the bit about staggered prices when i came back and caught up

I'd not previously been to the one i went to this morning, and it was a lot smaller than it looks, so i'm going to the bigger one tomorrow. Will probably have been cleaned out by the time i get there but you never know :-)

    Ideas please!:)

I have loads of used, glass holders, that had Glade or Airwick candles in.
Other than throwing them away, (a shame as some of them are really pretty and that's not very MSE), has any one got any ideas what other use they could be put to?

    Any tips, greatly appreciated.:D

Thanks for all your great ideas, lots of different uses for them!:)
Whats the best way of removing the last of the candle wax?

    Now another question!
Are the plastic flip top boxes that Persil capsules come in, suitable for storing food in the fridge or freezer?
This is the box I am on about.

    Last question.
Is the HC bar open yet, or am I too early?:D

Removed the pics to save space. Ist stamp fits with our pieces as we know they were bought new in the early 70s (but not Botanic Garden)

I think as far as JJ is concerned there may be still some confusion as both JJs and my internet search does indicate that the plain green oval mark is either seconds or not original style. Still, if you've found it in a PM "bible" then there's hope:):) Wonder if it's a shade of green that differentiates?

I could be absolutely wrong :o No mention in book re pale green label. If it is a seconds - I can spot the fault if Jumble Jack wants me too :)
I originally bought a lot of my collection from Portmeirion itself in their factory shop in early 80's. These were either seconds or 'one offs' or samples but all have the proper labelling.
Recently I've bought seconds from T K Maxx & again labelling the same
Thinking about the Seconds labelling - would they not know it was a Seconds until after it had been fired & then the flaws would show up? :)

Not at all, thanks very much for the info :) Will def do that tomorrow. Nice to see someone else local as well ;)

Yeah, realised after I posted it probably wouldn't be difficult to work out which one I was talking about, but then the reports are out there for anyone to read I suppose. Wish I could speak to some of the other parents that use it to to and see what they think or of they are even aware of the report, but I never seem to see anyone else, think it's because I put my DD in after 9 and pick her up just after 4. Hopefully get something sorted soon.
