Also other sister found 9 brand new roman blinds at local dump all packaged up & has left them with me..:D do I really need them? :o

This made me smile, we have a business selling made to measure blinds and when the manufacturer messes up and sends them with wrong demensions etc the only thing we can do is take them to the tip. I did try selling them on ebay once but got no response. When it is made to measure it is not much use to anyone else. However I do have a couple of friends who are 'crafty' and use the fabrics from some of the duffs and the sample books for making cards and one had all her Brownies making christmas decorations with them this year. At least they did not go to waste:D
If it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:

    Just to lighten the mood......

Disgraced Chef Anthony Worrall Thompson is thinking about reviving his flagging career by taking up singing.
Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams are said to be interested in forming a new super group, but are not sure about the name Take This Take That.
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

  • Thanks French Knickers.

Some salient constructive points made and I absolutely take your opinion on board.

As far as we are concerned, if you (the universal you) are consciously doing something you know sidesteps something we have in place to stop, we consider that you aren't respecting the environment we have built and it causes a problem. You wouldn't believe the amount of younger money savers who view this forum, least of all people who come here for a Tesco code (or whichever form of money saving) and are shocked to see a derivation of the c word on their first visit. The same goes for some of the more common swear words.

The effect on users is that Martin and the team find this acceptable, and our reputation is tarnished accordingly. We give people as much warning and reminders directly as we can to give them a chance, but ultimately we have to draw a line somewhere.

Likewise, we shouldn't have to keep posting reminders that swearing is unacceptable on a money based family forum. People often forget the reach of our forum and the places it appears. We are top, or near top, in google for a lot of things and it reflects badly on us if people wanting money help come here and see bad language. Consider the bigger picture, not just the community of people on one thread (in this case Tesco).

Our intention is never to stop people posting without reason, but we have to enforce Rules and have parameters in order to try and control what is now, officially, the 8th biggest social network society in the UK.

Frankly, if the user in question got this message, we'd happily reinstate, but my job is to protect the forum as a whole.

Thanks, I really wasn't expecting a reply to this and am pleasantly surprised!

I guess its easy for us tucked away on this board to forget we can also be viewed by anyone else who decides to look in. Also over the festive period with alcohol flowing freely, it's easy to allow standards to drop. I know I was guilty too of more than the odd inuendo or play on words after too much festive spirit (speckled hens springs to mind here!).

I do think on the whole though our little group and thread has lasted longer than many thought and has been pretty well behaved as we are to all intents and purposes self policing.

I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one who would be very grateful if you'd look at HC's case again, even if he did have to serve a short suspension. I'd also be more than happy if the guides gave us a little prod now and again if we do tend to push the boundaries a bit...it is a human nature thing! I've no direct contact with HC so I'll leave his close family member to contact you directly to discuss things further should you decide to do so.

    Thanks again for replying. :)

No recipe of the day from Jumblejack?? Tonight I'm doing an easy tea as OH is going to be home late.
We're going to have the T's southern fried chicken that didn't glitch for me.... and I'm using the idea someone here (sorry, can't remember who!) said of sticking them in wraps (Not OEP....didn't glitch either!!) with some salad chilli sauce and mayo.
Some home made spicey wedges and a bowl of salad....Easy Peasy!!

It was me who had them in the OEP wraps lastnight tasted brill although as it's chicken remeber a little salt to taste :)

:) I know what you mean - blinds are awkward to rehome. I had loads here from a £1 Laura Ashley sale.
In the end I put them on Freegle (was Free Cycle) & people came & took them away :T
These blinds are quite universal in being standard 120cm width by 200cm drop in neutral colourways.
    I'll Freegle them :D
    Our Family Motto ~
If all else fails - read the instructions...

  • Well the car is now fully clean. Won't be able to find it in Tesco's car park now!

Feel like a nap now though. :(
