heres a simple idea for you how about instead of just deleting posts you edit them to and give a reason why this was done that way you wouldnt have so many people questioning why as as far as most can see there has been no offensive posts i read this thread a lot while im working and never see anything i would deem offensive, and if your worried about certain people feeling offended by posts why not make a adult only section where people can post what they like obviously with some bounderies0

Well folks, what we've just witnessed is one way to kill off a thread
This time of the day there would be loads of posts. Hope we get our mojo back soon, and continue to help and guide each other with our finds.
Signing out too, for now at least. The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -

Rhetorical questions....did HC actually receive your warnings? Did he respond to them? Knowing he had aspergers and knowing he had other close family posting on here, did you attempt to find some other way to contact him to discuss it?
I've circumvented the spell thing and I'm sure many others have too, but I've never had a warning and I bet nobody else has either.
I commented earlier about board guides actually guiding and being a little more active to prevent such problems. Perhaps a posting now and again to suggest people curbed language or discussion might have helped stop it coming to this?
Thank you for explaining. It seems your mind is made up but I hope you will take some of the points I raise here on board as a lot of regular posters today feel very very let down by what has happened.
I shall not comment about it again on here.
Regards.
Thanks French Knickers.
Some salient constructive points made and I absolutely take your opinion on board.
As far as we are concerned, if you (the universal you) are consciously doing something you know sidesteps something we have in place to stop, we consider that you aren't respecting the environment we have built and it causes a problem. You wouldn't believe the amount of younger money savers who view this forum, least of all people who come here for a Tesco code (or whichever form of money saving) and are shocked to see a derivation of the c word on their first visit. The same goes for some of the more common swear words.
The effect on users is that Martin and the team find this acceptable, and our reputation is tarnished accordingly. We give people as much warning and reminders directly as we can to give them a chance, but ultimately we have to draw a line somewhere.
Likewise, we shouldn't have to keep posting reminders that swearing is unacceptable on a money based family forum. People often forget the reach of our forum and the places it appears. We are top, or near top, in google for a lot of things and it reflects badly on us if people wanting money help come here and see bad language. Consider the bigger picture, not just the community of people on one thread (in this case Tesco).
Our intention is never to stop people posting without reason, but we have to enforce Rules and have parameters in order to try and control what is now, officially, the 8th biggest social network society in the UK.
Frankly, if the user in question got this message, we'd happily reinstate, but my job is to protect the forum as a whole.

By the way, I was up in your neck of the woods today and found a whole stack of the 1p Winnie the Pooh Mugs in Ruth3rgl3n - got 5 but loads left and I also managed to get hold of a set of the drumsticks (none left in the tescos near my work) still quite a few left in the same store if that helps anyone0 -

It won't be a mistake that I make again!0
