:rotfl: I think most men have a "breast fetish" even the bottled fed ones...
Anything over a year breastfeeding I think looks odd and when I see 2 year olds plus sucking away, I feel very weird about it.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

If those children were being breastfed (as nature intended) then there would be no concern. My babies were old enough to ask from birth! Communication with children doesn't have to be verbal. Even when they were past the tears stage and before they could talk they used sign language so I'm confused at what age you mean.
Please explain why drinking the breast milk of cows and goats is OK and drinking human milk isn't when were are talking about young humans. Would it be OK if it were in a cup? Is it the fact that it is coming from a breast? What is the problem with skin to skin contact between human species? If I were putting my child to the breast of a cow I could understand the concern!
:T Couldnt of put it better myself, kind of strange to see a child udder feeding from a cow wouldnt it be, however its more accepted than breastmilk after a year old generally... not sure where all these ages of appropriateness came from tbh. I find it quite ennoying. Some one else also mentioned I dont see it being any business of anyones elses, I totally agree with this too. There are both health benefits to the child and mother to continue breastfeeding, I dont see a problem with self weaning. An average age of 4 is when most tend to stop by themselves. By then its usually one feed a day, not offered but not refused either.
I wish people would just do a little research into the benefits of allowing a child to self wean instead of choosing an age in there head based on what they deem acceptable before posting.
Im really weird btw ..Im breastfeeding my 4 year old daughter, since she has up to a 2 year delay too Im guessing she wont self wean till possibly 6.
Its been a saviour for us too especially when shes ill since breastmilk is absorbed so fast that Ive never had to worry about her getting enough fluids and nourishment when shes been poorly. Its a coping mechanisim for me as a parent im not sure how others manage without.0 -

So there are no breastfed babies who are fussy eaters? What rubbish.0 -
When you said "extended breast feeding" I wondered if you were in the kitchen and he was in the lounge.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

The breast feeding thing, is, i guess up to each individual. However at 14 months, surely a child shouldn't be being bottle fed, and should be using a cup and feeding themselves? The opposite of what you know...is also true0

Why do people find it so weird? For one it's no one else's business & another it's 1 of the most natural thing's ever.Booo!!!0

I dont see the difference here. breast or bottle - if a child NEEDS that comfort - who are we to deny it?
yes ok -I know that I am a great supporter of breastfeeding, but if a baby is bottle fed and gets great comfort and satisfaction from the bottle - why are so many parents so darn determined to get them off the breast or bottle and get their cows breast milk out of a cup?
I honestly think that in this country we force our children to 'grow up' far too soon. we dont allow them to be babies long enough. great emphasis is put upon 'reaching the next milestone' being 'potty trained' fgs - I have even heard mums trying to outdo each other on when the kids teeth appeared!
why dont mums relax and realise that time has NO meaning to babies - they just know about THIER wants and needs, and dont really understand why their bockie or booby is being denied to them!0 -

I'm puzzled why you think this.0 -
