Morning all,
Didn't get anything on my list done y/day. DD2 & SiL2b deceided to start painting their sitting room, DD phoned to say the paint wasn't going on right and could I give them some tips. (I am a retired Painter & decorator) They had brush marks and it was patchy. I went down and saw they had bought the cheapest paint and it looked like milk it was so runny, it works out dearer because it takes so many coats to cover the walls, so I took my Dulux down and made a start. I stripped the paper off below the dado rail and painted below and above the rail, only managed to get 3 walls and 2 alcoves done due to so much clutter and furniture it was not an easy job.
I'm hoping to be able to finish it on Tuesday.
It was lovely to see DGD's 2 and 3. DGD2 hasn't had any accidents since I potty trained her last week, she's so proud of herself that she has to show all she has produced, lots of well done's and claps all round. DGD3 is 3mths old now and very alert. Little Darlings.
Easy day today, Beef cobbler out of the freezer for DH's dinner. Meeting friends at lunch time in our local, it's gonna be difficult not having a drink due to the opp tomorrow I can only have consomme or water. Oh well it will soon be over, I have a nice bottle of wine in the fridge waiting for when I get home. Looking forward to that. :T
UOLYPOOL, I'm so sorry to hear about DS and his friends, as if he and you haven't been through enough these last few months.
Hugs to all poorlies.
A Warm Welcome to all Newbies.
Hope ti's a good day for all.0 -
Morning All,
Up and waiting for a call from my son in Australia. Its dull and cold here.
Managed to get quite a bit of the loft cleared yesterday and DD took some things home with her that she had left here when she stayed early in the year. Mum's scooter is selling so got that down ready for collection.
Didn't sleep very well as totm and awful dragging tummy so up and down.
Will be off to Ikea when it opens, we need to buy 9 more packets of knobs to finish the kitchen cupboards. Hoping to be ready to have the house valued buy the end of Feb.
I have decided to register with a few agencies as a home tutor and hopefully make some extra money, so that's tomorrows job.
Have absolutley no idea what to have for tea tonight, might be eggs as we have a glut at the moment
Anyway must get on, have a good Sunday all JulieStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
Working hard to get rid of our debt.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Managed to do very little on my list yesterday.Well, other than see the Leicester Tigers; my life is complete.
I have a John Lewis voucher which is burning a hole in my handbag, so I think that I'll have to make the most of the clearance sale and buy a new mattress protector. I know how to live!Luckily, I can order it online and then swing by after work one day to collect it from the store without paying to park! (oh, and I collect Avios points too if I do it that way!)
I've also been looking into the savings that I can get with my union membership. Allegedly, I can buy a Sainsbury's shopping card and get 4% for free. Now, I normally shop at Tesco as there's one in our town but Sainsbury's I'd have to shop on my way home from work. It would be a good way of budgetting, but... well, it's difficult to change your allegiance especially when you are addicted to collecting Tesco Clubcard points for holidays and weekends away! Ideas anyone?! Please?
Well, I suppose I'd better go and do some of the jobs that I didn't do yesterday!
Have a good day everyone and big hugs to those that need them :grouphug:

Morning all,
Bit grey looking here, but I have our bedding on the line, hopefully it will dry off a bit.
Oh is out at the boot sale and dd is off with her dad later, not sure what we are up to today, might have a nice long walk.
Yesterday we fitted an extractor fan in the utility room, we had mould around the windows. I bleached all the mould away, will have to re paint, and hopefully the extractor will take some of the moisture out :T
Not sure whats for dinner, will rummage in the freezer. Spoke to the neighbours yesterday re the fence, and they think its theirs, but he said if it is ours they are more than happy to pay half and get a propper job done, I said we would do the same, so we are going to wait till the spring, and get new concerete posts and new panels, and OH and Mr next door will do it, its so nice having nice neighbours, my last lot were horrible.
LW Hope you are ok hun, and enjoying your doggie visitor xx
Uolypool your poor ds, hope he is ok xx
Congrats to Bramble xxxx
Have good days all xx0 -

Work this afternoon so had a lie in and a read of my Kindle with a cuppa:)
Have done all the housework - just the ironing to do. I' having a roast lunch at work so have got some pork steaks out for DH and DS.
Dull but dry here so I've got a load on the line and another in the machine. There's only 3 of us - where does it all come from?
(((hugs))) to those who need them
Have a lovely Sunday all

Morning All
Up fairly bright and early this morning due to the council chopping up and removing the fallen tree at 8am on a Sunday morning! They have put a great big skip in the road so we can't get out. Happy days!
I have made a bean stew this morning that will do us a few meals/lunches this week, I had lots of peppers to use up. Also made DD some pancakes for breakfast but she hasn't appeared up yet.
Still not been shopping apart from milk, I think I may be able to last to the end of this week as the freezer is bulging. So far I have only thrown away a couple of satsumas that went bad.
Enjoy your Sundays everyone, take care. XX0 -
Morning All
Sunday already? how did that happen?!
I woke at 6 with a sore head got weighed just because I was up and found I was half a pound under the next stone :j so I was very excited - following slimming world seems to really suit me. Came downstairs and dozed on the sofa til around ten before finally giving in and taking a painkiller.
One of the reasons I am losing weight is because my Sister gets married in September and she rang last night to ask if I would do a reading at the wedding so if I ever feel like I'm faltering I will just have to think about standing up in front of all those people....
DS2 seemed a little better yesterday although we are looking for a new flat for them so I hope that doesn't cause too much stress.
Roast Beef and trimmings for dinner and the Twins are coming over too.
Have a good day all xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness
