    The fact you can still get into Safe Mode suggests it could be one of the programmes starting up in normal mode which is causing this.

    Go into Start, Run & type cmd then press enter. type msconfig and press enter again and look to see what you have in startup.

    Now you should only really have important things in there like ACPI, Anti-Virus software, anything else isn't really needed on startup

    tried typing msconfig comes back not recognised as an internal or external command, operable progra or batch file

    OMG no wonder its hanging, I'd disable all of them unless you need the keyboard shortcuts "kbd"

    You can still use those programmes when it boots anyway
    EDIT: I didn't recognise the antivirus, do you have one installed, if so leave that

    ok done that now its giving me an option to choose xp home edition or windows recovery console

    i restarted choose xp home edition and it rebooted again

    no sorry i disabled all and restarted but it still keeps rebooting as before,and my anti virus in comodo

    Have you ran the antivirus in safemode?

    It that finds nothing you can then try going to Start, Run and type "SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" You may need the Windows CD/DVD.

    I still know its something related to the startup, most likely driver related now

    no it wont run in safe mode i get error code 0x80004002 no such interface supported

    i dont have the windows xp cd/dvd
