    Is that done by running the memory test at start up? If so yes and it was fine

    Help it wont start up, it tries to then after a couple of seconds it shuts off

    That usually points to a faulty PSU

    Unscrew and unplug. Make sure the replacement has the same type of connections and the voltage is either the same or higher

    I think you meant wattage not voltage? Higher voltage PSU won't work!

    PSU = Power Supply Unit

    If youve never done one before it 'looks' complicated, but is in fact quite straightforward
    Just buy one the same WATTAGE or higher (Definitely not lower) with the same connections on
    All connections can only fit one way round so its a simple case of unplug all connections from the old one (Make little notes if you need to), unscrew and remove the old PSU, then fit in the new PSU, and simply re-attach the connections

    That's a bit like having no insulation on your house wiring, because the wires aren't touching each other. :eek:
