    What was the symptom of the clutch problem before you brought it to the dealer?

    for example; Bearing noise? Clutch Slipping ? Stiff pedal? Clutch Judder(vibration)? Difficulty in engaging gears?

    'clutch has burnt out

    is very nebulous term!!, Are they referring to the friction material being worn off by prolonged misuse?

    Highly unlikely in the scenario you describe!
