Investment opportunity?

There an old expression and I don't mean to be rude " a fool and his money are easily parted". You would be a fool to put your money into this! Just my opinion.

There is some trend for increased use of non-tent housing at festivals and such so this isn't just a fanciful idea. May actually be genuine, if high risk. Might be worth 5% of some people's money, which given their minimum investment value means I'm suggesting having total investable assets of £700,000 or more before considering it.

There was an interesting program on Radio 4 yesterday:

about promotional blogers all expecting to make millions from getting google links at tuppence a time.
I suspect Jane is one of that group. I knew other girls when I was young who did thing for tuppence a time.
Ah well! Those were the days.

It's quite common for loans to be made on condition of a charge being made against various assets. In the dim and distant past, I did business borrowing that was secured in some assets and some invoices.

Thanks Jamesd for taking me a bit more seriously. I haven't worked directly with Motorholme and therefore haven't been anywhere near a disclosure. I've written for Rick Lomas who runs Motorhomes Direct, which is a major 'lead generation' engine for Motorholme's hire network. Rick is a fanatic about SEO and link building and concentrates on Motorholme more than anyone else. Overall, I can see that Motorholme invest heavily in their web presence, so this is why I became very interested in this myself.

I got involved with MSE today because I had a Google Alert set, for the phrase 'motorhome hire', mainly as a catalyst to give me ideas to write about, but of course, seeing Andrew's plan - I felt I had to say something (as I am genuinely thinking about it), but now I wish I hadn't as it seems to be causing problems. Ho Hum...

And yes it certainly is a depreciating asset. A motorhome is probably the most complex consumer durable there is. Everything is made as light as possible. Couple that with hiring it out to novices and you have a recipe for trouble.

Nasty: I can assure that Motorholme have a real office near Cambridge, I've been there. It's not a virtual office it's a gorgeous farm with real people working there. I'll post something here when their next Open day is - I think that is the only way to feel more confident about this, to meet the people themselves.
