    Strange to find out that most people on this post don't like iPhone but keep comparing with it.

    I think everyone is frightened to mention the iPhone incase the iPhone haters come out :o
    Apple haters? I can understand disliking, but I don't see almost any reasons for anybody to hate Apple. However, I do see many reasons for many people to hate Apple fans that promote Apple far too aggressively and peremptorily.
    ETA: personally, I don't like any fanatics, and for me 'fan' is a synonym of 'fanatic'.

    I had an Htc desire for two years and loved it. The only issue I had was that when I text I always hit the wrong keys so then I had to faff about re reading and correcting the message. Also the camera packed up when I got the phone wet :o
    I never really wanted the Iphone before now but my ipod has started playing up so I've just bought the Iphone 4s, and cant believe how much more I prefer it!!
    Love the fact that I have all my music to hand and the keypad works brilliant for me. No more unreadable texts. Also, Siri makes things a doddle and I use it a lot.
    We all have different needs from our phones but for me the Iphone is spot on. On the other hand it would be a waste of money for my DH as he uses his mobile solely for calls.

    Yes, I have not got it and probably will never do - like I will never buy anything through gocompare. However, unlike with gocompare, I blame the fans for this, not the company. I can afford whatever phone I want, but I don't want it because I just don't want to join the herd and to be part of it.

    As i have said on other posts The iPhones are MEGA but Apple have tested peoples pockets and by that people look for an alternative phone which looks as good so therefore they turn into iPhone haters :(
    Once you've had a mac you won't go back imo :)

    Just one point, most smartphones are pricey (yes I know Apple put a premium on their wares) but that is not the reason I wouldn't buy one. For me it's:

    * Lack of control
    * Lack of real customization
    * Lack of hardware choice
    * iTunes itself

    It's not all about the price tag, I personally went with the HTC route as Sense is great for me and as there is a fantastic development community - the phone can be 'upgraded' software wise to the latest phones (Sensation XL firmware on Desire HD, Sensation XE firmware on Sensation, AOSP/Cyanogenmod/MIUI on just about any phone etc.) providing longevity and choice of what to run on the device.

    iOS is like being in nursery compared to the freedom found on Android devices. Windows Phone provides a good balance between the two and is looking more promising with each iteration of the operating system but isn't quite there for me yet.

    Must admit being a first time iPhone user, i would agree with what you say above.

    Only problem is i dont know what the other phones are like to use so dont know if its worth the hassle to send the phone back.

    You've just explained perfectly why I would never have another Apple product again. However, I'm sure an Apple fan will be along shortly to tell you that you're wrong and whyiPhone products are the best ever.

    I remember vividly explaining all this to a customer who was asking me my opinion on Android vs. iOS and her husband stubbornly exclaimed "but you can do folders with the iPhone!". I wasn't too sure how to respond to that at the time...
    Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug). ;)
  • It will connect, but never read/transfer anything off the phone so is secure. Also I've found that when you search for devices close by my phone doesn't show up, even though bluetooth is permanently on due to my car kit.

    I always had Nokias before my iPhone, and wouldn't have anything else.....until they brought out touchscreen, now I don't like them. As a keypad basic phone you can't beat Nokias (in my opinion) but I'm not keen on the new versions.

    Lol love the fact that an Apple fan boy tries to turn Apple restricting bluetooth meaning you are locked to Itunes store, and buy content off them rather than get mates to send it you into a positive thing.

    oh bluetooth is locked down because the phone is so secure! what wonderful thinking by Apple!

    More reasons to dislike Apple and the Iphone? missing features, being years behind other companies, then when they finally release a feature years later to catch up they act like they have invented it and the wheel in the process!
    Example Facetime, and all talk of people have been dreaming of video calls for decades, and now we have brought it to them....erm no, it has been around for years on even the most basic pay as you go phones, and proper video calling as well, not just WI FI to WI FI!!
