o2 problems. Should I ask for refund? & recommend another ISP.

Jeez! You should be maxing out that connection! If O2/BE LLU was available you'd be getting 20meg+. Perhaps even the same on WBC (BT's ADSL2+ offering).

:rotfl:I don't really know what you just said there .

My line only supports up to 8MBps so i don't know why you think i should be hitting 20MBps..?

Still, as i say, i've noticed a reduction in speeds from o2 & i know i used to hit mid 6's.

I've just ran the test again on a different, much less powerful & much more cluttered PC:

I've emailed Zen to see if they limit the customer, depending on the time of day & website they're visiting. If not i may return. If they do, i'll need to find an ISP who don't shackle the customer like this.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

OP cant get LLU (ADSL2+) as stated.

Left O2 last year wish i could have got 2meg download thats on LLU as well.
Would still be with them if it were not for the shear number of dropouts a day measured in the hundreds but thats a BT problem.

I would check out the small ISP's and see what they have to offer. ADSL is depleting and trying to get most off it. ADSL24 worth a try was with them in the Entanet days before going sour.

I only pay for up to 2meg upload.

Why did i type eating? Eh?

Anyway i had a look on a broadband review site. The one that was top has a strange billing system where you buy daytime allowances & nighttime allowance. I don't know what i'd use for the daytime. It'd be better if they just kept it simple & went for monthly allowance.

    Which exchange are you on?

My previous post was to outline that you have an excellent sync (the full 8 meg on an upto 8 meg plan), and that IF you could get an ADSL2+ connection (e.g. with BE/O2, Sky, TT, or even via a BT reseller) then you'd be able to get 20+ meg sync.

Therefore any throughput problems you are having is because the O2 Access connection is heavily contended (congested) - they don't buy enough bandwidth from BT to allow all their customers to get full throughput at busier times.

If you post wour exchange we'll be able to give some suggestions as to who may be best for you. :)
