Thanks for the price drop posting. Paid £149-99 just last week for the DVD player. Took it back today for a refund then bought a new one at the lower price...now got £50 to spend on DVD's for it..

Thats lucky gozzy, Maplin dont let you return things to buy it again at the cheaper price (if they suss out what you are doing anyway).

Just a heads up for you guys, the price will most likely be going back up after the weekend, there was an email today saying that they didnt expect it to be so popular and its selling too quickly, so they are thinking about putting the price back up.

I think it was Godspeed who said this unit only had mono sound from the speaker and used only one channel (presumably meaning one stereo channel). Isn't this likely to be a bit naff i.e. you could lose one half of a conversation for instance? Can anyone else confirm this.

(I know you can get stereo via headphones but may well use it without these a lot of the time.)
