Evening all!
Busy couple of days, had a heart to heart with mum about great aunt, as I dont think the level of support she needs is possible at home, and the strain on mum is beginning to tell, aunt is in hospital at the moment as she was found collapsed at home on monday, she has a chest infection and is in tears wondering how she can go back to live with her stepfather and "his floozie".......so yesterday we asked the nurses to arrange a case conference to discuss continuing care, staff nurse tried to argue she would be fit to go home, so I got a wee bit nippy and reminded her about what I do for a living, so now waiting for a meeting date! Mum feeling a bit guilty, but aunt is so vulnerable and mum is struggling to cope, just us 2 to see to auntie and care in the community isnt ideal, to say the least!
Anyways, moan over, I have spent 2 days washing drying and ironing, am waiting for a roofer to quote on the new damage to the roof, and was so scunnered that we have just had a yummy indian takeaway for dinner! Its my weekend on, so working till monday night, OH back to work on monday thank crunchie as he's been going stir crazy and is getting on my nerves! DS finally had his root canal treatment finished today, so no more moaning about the dentist from him for 6 months!
Hope everyone has a peaceful weekend, thinking especially of Bramble, and hugs to all who need or want one!!!!!RIP Iain

Good evening all!
Massive hugs :grouphug:to all those who need it.
My Year 1 class don't need any excuse to climb up the wall, so the wind this week has made it interesting. That means during Golden Time today, they were able to run off a small amount of their excess energy on the playground.
DH has finished the first four days in his brand new job! He seems to be enjoying it, which is great. In celebration, we've had "Italian chicken" made using yellow sticker chicken. I know how to treat him! :rotfl:
I went to Tesco yesterday and went down their "Clearance" aisle. Normally I give it a wide berth due to the mass of people down it. Thankfully last night there were very few people there and I managed to get 3 Christmas gift bags for 50p each. They'll be put in my "gift wrap box" for December....
Have a good night all.

Good evening everyone
Hope you are all well
OH took LO out for most of the morning so had chance to do some washing which is on the radiators. I haven’t used my tumble for ages and OH has checked and we have saved so much in just a short time.
Looking back we have had a productive week so very very pleased.
It was sausage mash and beans tonight and a cosy film night with some left over Christmas sweets.
I have quite a few jobs planned for over the weekend as it looks like we have another busy week next week.
Night night everyone xx0 -
Evening everyone
Sorry to be MIA this week, but have been reading. Well the tasks I have set have been achieved. The crocheted squares do not make a large enough throw/blanket, so will continue making squares, got some more wool today to take with us.
Bramble - hope everything goes well for you.
Lou - (((hugs)))
LW - Hoping your shoulder eases soon. ((hugs))
Cheated and had F&C tonight after going to see GNeice & GNephew, will miss them. LO who will be 3 in April is a real star turn. However, when he gets tired, just asks to go to bed, it was just 6.30 and went straight off after a story.
Hairdressers in the morning. Washing now up to date, been a lousy drying week, so been using the main bathroom as a drying room.
Had the first spend day of the week, but that was just the wool, and a reduced price calendar, and took the £4 trousers back as they did not fit, until we had the F&C.
Well better get back to the crocheting.
Take care all - Must pack tomorrow, as off Sunday a.m. - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Hello all,
Thank you for all the nice messages....funeral went well and family had organised that grandchildren, gtgrandchildren and god children were involved....was just the send-off she would have liked, very sad though as she is the end of the family line...only girls in her generation so name is now gone...will be trying to follow her example as she was never one to sit and brood.
Bramble....hugs....know that you may not read this but will be thinking of you anyway.
Welcome Newby...you will like it here.
Have just had a letter from Revenue and it appears that we are going to be paying more tax this year....usual vague missive so will have to go on line and no doubt finally ring them to find out exactly how much they are talking about....serious belt-tightening will need to be introduced.
Beth....please take it a bit easier....you are like someone on a roller coaster...good luck on Monday.
A bit milder here to-day....really need to get out in garden and do a tidy up, start sowing stuff in greenhouse etc; etc.
We had lunch after funeral so just had a sandwich this evening, going to look at a house with DD4 to-morrow....she has viewed one to-day that she likes, but wants to do a bit more looking...house prices still seem to be going down here, so not sure if she should wait a bit longer or not....scared that she will just jump in feet first to first thing she likes, but she realises that it is not easy to keep up a mortgage.
Quick look around other threads and then bed, as I am tired to-night....sleep well all and stay safe
