Thanks for the welcome - just back in from having a look round Morrisons and came back with a few bargains, 50% off their Christmas hams so got a very large one for 7 quid. Thats just been cut into 4, one in the slow cooker and the other three in the freezer. Some half price sausages (65p!), sliced bread, cheap christmas cheese (I am a sucker for cheese!) and some of their lovely white sub rolls, still warm from the oven!
Two bags of mostly yellow stickered stuff for less than 18 pounds, well chuffed! Kids will be happy with their supersized hot dogs later!
Now for a mug of teaThanks to advice from people here I am debt free - thank you to you all! Now working on the mortgage!0 -

Afternoon all
Came home to find my rotarty line snapped, oh bu&&er, DD has one she isn't using, I'll scrounge it off her.
Tru, glad you aren't too upset about your job.
DGS is getting slathered every day now, I just hope it keeps the nits at bay.
No idea what's for tea, no idea when/if hubby will get home or if he'll be hungry. I think I'll do poached egg on toast for me & sort something out for him later.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hi all....havnt been on here all week......greetings to newbies.........
been and up and down week with me spending a whole day in the A&e of the nearest hospital......
at the end of november I got bitten on my foot by possible a spider[not an uncommed thing here].I didnt feel it at the time until it started to really hurt and then got very infected..had a course of anti biotics which ended when I was in the uk.but it didnt heal well and my dr here was reluctant to prescribe more medicine and wanted me tp bear it out....
all was well until the end of last week when suddenly a nother bite appeared next to the first one...spend the weekend taking pain killers and went to the drs on sunday[mormal day here]and he took one look at it and gave me a note to go the next day to the hospital..
long story short and 7 hours later after being prodded and poked and looked at by g-d knows how many drs and shuffled from dep to dep nobody is sure but came with a course of 3 different medicines including more anti b's......anyway tho still hurting it seems to be drying up so hopefukky that will be the end of that.....
sorry that turned into an epic and I realize that it is trivial compared to what others are going through but I do feel bettetr fo writing it down so hope that ok...
Another quiet weekend here.no kids home so think it will be time for pyjamas soon until sun morning...
JuliaG..waiting with bated breath now.......
Tru......you seem to have taken your job loss well
Beth, Bramble, Meanmarie, Taplady, Lamewolf....Hugs to you all and all others who are in need of one or spoons......
Have a good weekend everyone.......0 -
Hey all,
I'm still here! Waiting for Bro to finish work in the city, then get over here and we'll head, so will end up leaving at around 7/8pm i think. Thank you for your lovely messages everyone.
I finished work early, because my boss is a diamond, so came home cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, FINALLY packed, then decided i wanted to try on a different dress to wear, so packed that too. Need to charge my ipod and make my thermos. Will do the living room and bedroom shortly, and maybe then i will feel ready to go. My best friend dropped off a beautiful necklace through my door today, she lives in Bangor atm as is doing her masters and we havent seen each other in months! In fact, I'm going to make sure i get up there to see her this year.
Looked at lots of walking routes today in my lunch hour, i had so much fun on monday that i want to explore new places with the pup for company every week - great as OH is always working too!
have a lovely evening all, i'm sure i will check in tomorrow xxxxx
HH - will be in touch next week re: books - this week has run away with me i'm afraid!

Hello all
You are right Hester and Dasiegg, the wind affects our schoolkids as well. So does the full moon.
It's been a busy week this week so I've housework to catch up on, I also want to watch a couple of programmes I didn't manage to watch. DS2 has gone back to uni today so we won't see him for a while now.
take care everyone
