Ex tenant/friend wanting deposit back - moral dilemma

Nice -just got a PM from ilesmark accusing me of reporting his post for mentioning Aspergers (kind of rich as my sig clearly shows I deal with Aspergers daily as the mother of a young man with the condition) . Thanks to however DID report him-I just love getting stroppy PMs <eye roll>
However -(now I've caught up on the thread) I do find most adults with AS do have a very "black and white" view of right and wrong and a less than perfect understanding of friendship dynamics (eg not understanding why friendship bonds might loosen over one person being absent travelling for a long period and another getting married) so I do understand a bit more why the OP was a little unyielding in his views although my advice is the same-Pay up -move on and stay on good terms with your friend-friendships ebb and flow-just because you aren't close friends now doesn't mean you may not be again later-but keeping this scenario going will pretty much guarantee you won't be !
(and yes it's my 20 year old son who has AS and having now read the part of Mark's comment that was quoted I can see why someone took it that he was insulting me and not simply responding to my charge of "pompous twaddle" something people with ASD do come across as doing at times. I see why someone complained although I didn't take offence at it and "got" the context but then I understand Aspie humour better than you ordinary people

MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I just wanna say , as someone said earlier life's too short. It is a shame that you two still couldn't be friends and like others have said pay what you owe him. Explain to him no hard feelings though I'd give a receipt for amount and who knows you could be friends again in future. Good luck0
