Can't click on links stored on Word document

I have a long list of links stored on a word documents (too many to put in bookmarks!). Until a few days ago I was able to just hover on them, click on "enter" and the links opened in a new tab.
Now when I do that I just get I dialog box saying, "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator".
Erm, I'm the system administrator since I'm the sole user of this computer, and I haven't knowingly done anything to place these restrictions that were not here last week.
What happened, and how can I go back to be able to click on the links? I can copy and paste them but it was a lot easier when I didn't have to.

Are you opening the word doc in a browser?
It might be you need to set default programs - http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=3100490 -
I debit, Happy new year to you too!
It's the same, I get the same message. It's annoying because I've been clicking on the links all the time and it's just a few days that this has happened.
They're links of sites I find on StumbleUpon, and I have copied and pasted the entire list and sent it to my alternative email address and in that way the links work. But it's bugging me.

I see what you mean. I use Opera as default and have recently upgraded it so it might be that. I'll try making IE the default browser and see if it works like that (will try later). Thanks for the advice, and I will post the result.

Which version of word have you got, (Alternately create a bookmark/favourite folder called stubmledupon to hold them in a list) must admit I don't use IE cos I prefer Firefox .4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Most allow you to have hierachical/cascading menus of bookmarks.
The links are not in bookmarks, they are on an ordinary word document, basic Word (dunno what it's called). I couldn't have them in bookmarks, not the thousands of them! On a word document I have them neatly indexed under Science, Health, Humour etc etc. Or I'll never find anything, lol.
Anyway I will deal with EchoLocation's advice later and will report back.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
