I think my wife has joined all of the clubs, really pleased with the free bag from Boots. So Pampers it is then, off to work out which store has the best deal per nappy...
I prefer boots own and little angels as pampers leaked and to be honest I'm not into buying branded things- only bought pampers when they were on offer and had vouchers so don,t always go for branded itdms especially whenthere is more than one baby toddler. I've tried aldi - lovem tescos own love em and many from abroad ....... That's my opinion0 -
Where has the cheapest nappies out of all the events? My wife is expecting our first baby in May & want to be fully prepared! Huggies or Pampers?
I bought sainsbury's for the first time - 4+ for junior, and a pack of 27 size 1 for £1.43 for the incoming arrival - this is cheaper than asda own brand - 3.55 for 44 iirc. (sainsbos reduce their own brand nappies during their events, asda do not). They seem very good as well.
We never had many problems with cheaper nappies - I have never bought pampers, and huggies we get when they are around 10p each.0 -
nappies fit every baby differently imo, i wouldnt buy a lot of nappies before your baby is here or you could end up wasting more money than you would be saving by stocking up.0

It's worth trying different brands, different people prefer different ones.
We never had a problem with any of the branded ones or shop own ones. I used to buy the cheapest - keep your eyes open for offers, coupons etc.
The only time we had problems was as my dd got older and we used the pampers active fit, they were great until they changed them to apparently improve them. They gave her really bad nappy rash. She had never suffered with it before as soon as I swapped to tesco own brand it cleared up straight away.
I would recommend you don't go mad and buy loads of the same just in case.0 -
Dont forget nappies etc are on offer in sainsburys too, might be worth comparing their prices with tesco and asda.Mummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,

Hi just a tip about stocking up on boxes of nappies.
We bought a few boxes of nappies and our son outgrew then pretty quickly. As we always keep receipts, OH took the nappies back to Mr T's and they gave us the money back. So dont be afraid to stock up, just dont open too many packets at once and save the receipt.

Do they reduce the items towards the end of the sale?
Sometimes reduce large boxes of nappies if they have loads left - it takes up the seasonal isle so they need to clear the space. But don't rely on this approach as you may be disappointed.
Sainsburys also have an up to half price sale on the baby section as well at the moment.

Maybe a lovely person who is going to check out the prices will post their finds on here? Who is cheaper per nappy etc, I'd be very grateful, not getting out the house much right now, so can't try out all supermarkets.:j - DS - 7

It's very tempting to stock up with a billion nappies in advance, but don't over do it. The vouchers and offers are year round - and 'big' events like this are every 3/4 months or so.
You don't know yet whether yours will be a 6 pounder or 10 pounder, whether his/her legs will fit Huggies / Pampers or any others.
Learn your cost per nappy - normal prices are 10p per nappy for Pampers. We aimed for 4/5p per nappy or less, but realistically with vouchers clever use of vouchers achieve less than 2p per nappy for Huggies and Pampers nappies.
Recent success (yesterday) at Sainsburys was 37p for 27 size 1 Huggies + Mum-to-be Kit (using Manufacturer's coupon with a Sainsburys club coupon)

I would advise calling your local store before you head out as my local ASDA had nothing reduced today when i got there. They told me to come back on the 17th when the event startsApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0
