  • Fab news Brizzle. I would definitely pay off the debts and then start saving for the pots to overpay the mortgage etc. How exciting. I think you're the first person, amongst the diaries I follow, that will be debt free. Please do share what it feels like when you get there. ;)

Thanks everyone. BoF..I am blushing with pride :) Aaw Magsnoodle..that's a lovely thing to say. Believe me I couldn't have done it without my friends in the box..they drive me on! :)

Absolutely shattered today and it's only Monday  so can't stay long! But yes TTs today and not spent a bean so far. Need to find out if OH has.. We have 2 goals for this week..meal planning and grocery shopping of no more than £3 per day for the next 10 days...so £30. Should cover us for fresh stuff, milk etc so let's see how it goes.

I plan to think of 3 goals each week...as well as trying to think of 5 good or positive things every day too. I have felt more positive recently..lots of reasons for it in RL, but counting my blessings, our blessings, is certainly a good part of it.

    Have a good eve folks

    Perkier this morning :)

Done the TTs and just grabbing a second cuppa before I venture out to work. Feeling quite positive.

Willing the money down but just now want to grab some time to rework the budget....and not sure when that will happen this week or at the weekend as we are away. Oh well. Maybe my best ideas will come out of reflection so some thinking time is no bad thing..

I am sure some thinking time will help you sort the budgets out Mrs B, you always manage somehow.

Glad you are feeling perky and positive this morning. x

Great news on the bonus Mrs B. I echo the others - pay off the debt first. Then all the money coming in is yours to save or pay off your mortgage, whichever you please!

Thanks everyone..good to 'see' you P&F:wave:

Piq jwil and Mrs PG..you ARE my inspiration :) You've kept me going when I was ready to give up..so THANK YOU for being there..one day we will meet in RL..I really hope we will :)

Today has been good..a NSD. OH also had a NSD so that really counts :D. Despite a freezing house the heating is firmly off and no-one, not even the lodger;) has complained yet so off it stays :). Seems funny to do it immediately after the boiler service but it all saves the pennies.

Meal planning is working a treat. OH did a freezer inventory as well to convince ourselves we had loads of ingredients and stockpiled meals (and of course we do!) and it seems to be working. He also stretched the chicken to 3 main meals (each serving 4 or even on Sunday and this eve, 5!) which is a result. He was rather pleased with himself. The JO recipe book came out again, yesterday was chicken risotto with loads of spring greens and broccoli for bulk. Apparently it was yummy.

Jack's recipe book also looks good. We make hummus quite often so intrigued by the idea of peanut butter ( which we buy in bulk) instead of tahini...will have to try. It's a nicely presented book too, so I hope it does well. Another inspiration!
