Agree since our TD broke i've not really missed it a lot. Not sure I will be saying the same when the rain returns though as it takes so long to dry stuff in the house! But we'll see
I bet my leccy bill has dropped dramatically since stopping using it lol.

Hi DFW..am sure it will have/do. Our leccy bill has gone down and down and I am sure some of that is due to the solar panels of course but that it's as much due to the Eco-kettle and not having a TD.
Today has been a good day and a good start to the scary July Yomp Challenge I have joined..
- a NSD!! Yes!! Needed onions but pottered into the c@@p and used vouchers so got some onions, beers (OH was very hard at work clearing a patch on the allotment ( which I had let slide) for our sweet corn, chard and autumn spinach:D so I figured a beer was in order) and some fruit. I handed over the vouchers and got £11.45 in change to boot! Result!
- £4.81 on the solar panels:T
- Andy Murray won his match convincingly ( sorry, had to get that in!!:rotfl:)
- ate salad leaves from our allotmentwhich were yummy and I made a liver & bacon tomato pasta sauce for tea. Everyone was cautious at first, but then really enjoyed it! I was pleased as the whole meal for 4 of us can't have cost me more than £1.20! :T The liver was reduced and in our freezer for ages. I love the stuff but know its not to everyone's taste and it was ox liver as well so a stronger taste.
- made Tilly Tidies and have a £0 on the hideous Mr T account so am going to write and formally close it:T
- OH will get a few days OT this month. The extra money is not to be sniffed at.
- OH in on the super frugal J.U.L.Y challenge...so here goes! Great to have him on board;)
Think that's it. Off to read some diaries and get some sleep before work tomorrow. Hope everyone is good.

Liver & Bacon! I haven't had that in a while! Used to be a staple dinner in our house growing up! Well done on the bargainous co-op shop!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Me too! Harked back 30 or more years;) seem to remember it was with potatoes and not pasta then tho!
My dad was also keen on bread and dripping ( especially the meaty bit at the bottom), lardy cake and sprats..not all at the same time I hasten to add. Did you get those too?
Yum yum:D:rotfl: have to say he is as fit as a fiddle and in his late 70's!!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

My Dad absolutely loves lardy cake. I now understand what you mean by panels, it's been confusing me what you have been doing with panels, but now I understand
Well done on getting the Mr T card to £0xx

Awesome job on the dinner expenditure Brizzle! :money:
Elec solar panels are great - used to have some 2 houses ago, and have missed them ever since. Another £100 elec bill for me this month - SIGH!0 -
Thanks guys
Sorry for confusing you..I do that in RL sometimes:p..yes they are PV panels and we get 43p per unit generated. So when we get a good say 11 unit day it's easy cash. Today however was only £1.81 but you can't win them all. We have already made more than in 2012.
Today has been a NSD! :T Second in a row. Narrowly avoided a compulsory spend in the chemist for DDs..but luckily not in stock and must go back tomorrow which needs to be a spend day as getting my veggie box delivered.
What else...Tilly Tidies, updated signature ( couldn't wait until Friday!:rotfl:) and sent off my 'please close my account ' letter to the horrible Mr T card..and snipped it up for good measure. So there, gone and it never coming back!:):A
Yummy HM bread made today. So gorgeous with butter. Can't beat it and with the mistake ( I think) of bread flour being only 69p a bag in the c@@p last week bargainous too. And kidney bean burgers, rice and veg for tea. Great and so cheap. Thanks to the girl called Jack for that! Girls still prefer meat ones..but tough and they are gradually wolfing them down. I am beating down their resistance...oh and HM mango ice cream too..got some reduced cream yesterday and chucked it in with some tinned mango pulp I had. Scummy pudding.
Hope everyone is doing ok

My nan still to this day goes on about bread and dripping (she's from southern Ireland) but i've never had it! Nor lardy cake with sprats! Am I missing out on something ;)Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. Errmm...wouldn't mix the sprats with the lardy cake, but separately they are lush.
Sprats are cheap too, just fry in some flour and oil. Lardy cake is the stuff of kings:D and by using the dried fruit you can even get 1 of your 5 a day ( and ignoring the lard bit of course!..not so sure about that in the diet) ...can you even get dripping anymore..am not sure you can get it down the usual super markets!
Have just done my hair with a shop bought dye...very MSE. Think my lovely hairdresser will give up on me soon
PS nice to see the lovely New Leaf is back...sort of:)MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
