Quidco - would this be unethical ?

they were just using a travel agent to book everything through who did load the cost - i have now started booking more stuff direct as its cheaper, but when i checked one of the sites through quidco yesterday one of the hotels i had booked at work had a cheaper rate through one of quidco's providers.
Hence me thinking should i use the provider direct or go through quidco first
So far this week, we've had 2 flights to europe, two to edinburgh, 3 lots of car hire and 4 copthorne hotel rooms with breakfast. Oh and some mega exclusive hotel in europe that *had* to have a gym and sauna that i nearly fell over at the cost - more than my weeks wages for one night *Spendi*

Id definitely go through quidco but I would do it to obtain the lowest possible price for the company. Do this yourself, without asking for anyone else's permission, and imagine how good you will look after 6 months or a year when you can go to your employer and show them how much you have saved the company. This can only put you in a better light and improve your future prospects for promotion.

I would say go through Quidco, its not affecting any price your employer gets and a little added bonus for you.0

as long as you aint using sies just coz their on quidco i'd go go go for it.....If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.0

as long as your bosses know what you are doing, and are ok with it...then no problem.
But if they dont, and they find out later that you may have benefited from it, it wont look too good on you.0 -
I would say that if you're booking hotels, flights etc for your personal use (whether business or pleasure) then fine. Or if you're booking things as a gift for others and you're paying for it then it's fine. I'm not sure how ethical it is to make large bookings for a company through it though. Presumably if you do then the ethical thing to do would be to pass the cashback on to the company as well. If you're in doubt then one of us could ask Quidco to see if they have a policy on it.
At the end of the day ethics are complicated but please bear in mind that misuse of cashback can mean that it's withdrawn, either your account could be cancelled or the merchants may withdraw so what you do doesn't just impact on you.
I'm not sure that there's a right and wrong here just a more ethical vs less etchical btw.0 -
A hypothetical question like this was one of Martin's moral dilemmas. It's here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=3513770

If it's what the company would do anyway, why not go through Quidco? It's no odds to your company!
GO FOR IT!0 -
I would do it if I knew I wouldn't get found out - like someone says, it might not look good on you later if they find out. Morally its not wrong but corporately it might be.0
