hi robindunne just found this on tax credit webpage

"" Note: If your employer has deducted pension contributions directly out of your pay, you do not need to do anything as these will not show up on your P60. ""

so now wandering have i done right by phoning tax credits ??
my hubbys wage slip said £13100 was earned each year uptil week 52 (cant find p60 we recently moved)
each week in the deduction part of the wage slip it says nat ins , income tax and pension contributions which is taken off his weekly amount....so have i done right by adding up his total amount of pension contributuions he has paid and deducting it from the £13100 to get our new yearly income ??
tax credit lady said yes but want to double check as they have got me in a mess before by saying yes when they should not ....

  • Hi robindunne or anyone who can advice.I got my new award now i have taken pension out i am still quite worried that i have done the right thing just incase they want any money back. They are paying me around an extra £900 between this month and next .I got two lots of paper work from tax credits yesterday one saying AMENDED AWARD and in another envelope one saying FINALIZED AWARD they were both slightly different how they had worked things out but they both added to the same. The award which says finalized award does this one mean they have checked and verified all my details with what i have told them and what ever checks they do and it is right what i have done taking off pension from p60 .

carlos - i dont think they actually do any checks, they randomlly pick out people through out the year to do checks on them just to prove to themselves that the system is working and not many people fiddle - but i expect people do fiddle...
i to was worried as to wether i have done the correct thing, but after reading another thread earlier today it seems we have done the correct thing !"
  • Hi Kurjam thanks for your advice when you said you have read a other thread today which has reassurred you that you have done the right thing which thread.
  • Hi,
I am currently looking at reducing my weekly working hours from 37 to either 29.5 or 30. My oh doesn't work.

I've been told (by a colleague) that I will get a lower amount of Child Tax Credit if I reduce to 29.5 hours, as I will lose the "30 hour bonus payment"

Please could you advise me if this is true?

    Thanks

just been on entitledto.com and they can not give me an estimate of what tax credits i am entitled to, because i get incapacity benefit and they do not include childcare in the estimate (when tax credits do)....
any way apart from that my tax credits form says income for this year is £13600 it is going to be quite a bit more £4000 more infact, does any one know will that mean that i owe them £4000 ???
i have heard that you can earn a bit nor than what you tell them and it not effact your money ??
    any help appreciated...
