Are you refering to Key Skills Level 2 in Maths? If so, yes that's the same as GCSE grade C.

I know key skills level 2 IS GCSE C grade. I am asking if the certificate says "this is equivlent to a C grade in GCSE"

as the lady I emailed said "An equivalent qualification must state that it is an equivelent"

No. The Key Skills certificate states it is a Key Skills certificate accredited by whoever. It does not state that it is equivalent to anything else - it is a stand alone qualification, not just a replacement for GCSEs, so it says nothing about them on it.

It is however, equivalent to a C grade at GCSE.

Well would the provider (there is a learning centre what does it) beable to write me a letter to go with it statring it is equivelent to a C. because the college advisor tutour said they would accept it as an equivilent only if there is something to say so.

There is usually a list that an institution has, that they can cross reference on, Level 2 qualifications are GCSE level in any case as far as I recall. so any pass in that would be at least a C grade.

I'll see if I can find a list somewhere for you - edit - see above

As you're planning to go into nursing after your Access course, it's important to check with any university that you want to go to that they will accept this as equivalent to a GCSE grade C, as many places won't.

Just having it accepted by the college isn't enough as you could find yourself having to spend a year retaking the full GCSE before being able to start university.
