What is usually law in the rest of Europe will shortly be the law in the UK as we are now all one big happy family.

The German government can't tell the difference between a bar and a brothel? I bet some of our MP's wish they had thought of that one.

It's easy guys - in bars they sell drinks and in brothels they sell sex. Simples.

Then you've led a very sheltered life and probably been too busy nodding to whatever the Daily Express tells you to have noticed.
I don't read newspapers, thank you.

Safest policy is to assume that everything in the press is a lie unless you have thoroughly checked out the story. Generally accepted that most/many 'journalists' are drunks, drug addicts, or both; also usually very lazy and not too bright.

No, but happy to go along with their ignorant lying headlines.

    What lying headlines?

It seems you're ignorant/stupid enough to believe anything someone writes on the internet, and not consider that there is always two sides of the story - so long as it fits in with your apparent personal crusade against the JCP/government. There's something to be said for not believing anything you read in the papers, the internet however, is in a league of its own with regards BS.

My son in law is currently on the work program through his local JobCentre, (he is a rare one who actually looks for work) anyway he had his 3rd appointment this morning with Avanta he attended the first one, on the second one his advisor phoned in sick although they waited for him to arrive to tell him, He was always on time polite and well dressed the woman who is supposed to 'advise' him told him that she did not care whether he was ill his wife was ill or his 2 kids are ill, if he doesnt attend 'she' will stop his Jobseekers allowance. His 2 kids are 3 month and 3 he was shocked at this and told her that if his kids are ill he will ring but will not attend, She said she doesnt care if they are in hospital all it takes is a phone call from her and his money will be sanctioned. He attended every time he was supposed to and as i say is activley seeking employment Can she seriously threaten him or should he speak to the JobCentre about her, The manager 'wasnt in today or the rest of this week' and when he asked her for his name he was told the manager doesnt deal with 'people like him'

Kazz, these work programme providers are unscrupulous. Your son in law really needs to record any further conversations he has with them. Unfortunately the power afforded them by the DWP to sanction people seems to have gone to their heads, and they will use it at the drop of a hat.
Also remember that if they do raise a sanction doubt, and the DWP write to say they are suspending his benefit, he can appeal to them, and tell them what happened, they may not agree with the provider. But ALWAYS record what they say, as this may be very useful evidence to show how unreasonable they are being.
  • Son in law was sent to his new advisor today, apparently other advisor cannot question the health of his family and had no right to threaten, she did however know exactly who he was talking about. Loads of people have gone there after going to avanta because of their 'been scraped off my shoe' attitude.
He was also told that when his son goes for his operation she will arrange appointments around hospital for him.
Someone who treats everyone as equals the power not gone to her head good on ya.
  • Hey all

Work program has nothing to do with jobcentres they are independently sought by the government. Job centrs have no durastricion or are able to take complaints or solve any as these are independant companies who take orders directly from whitehall. If you want to complain you have to contact the independant complaints comission http://www.ipcc.gov.uk/en/Pages/contact-us.aspx.
Please dont label jobcentre staff as scum as they have no responsibility over the work program feel free to complain though. by the way they can sanction heavily for non attendance and do this frequently again jobcentres cannot challenge this or help in any way as they are independant companies

What remit does the independent police complaints commission have to hear complaints re work program provision?
