I don't blame you. We have always been lucky, but we are pushing the boat out this Easter, we paid privately to go to Dorset with Parkdean and it's cost a pretty penny, but we went luxury so we could have central heating and double glazing for 7 days. I do love the sun hols though, we have never had a bad one. Always stuck to Parkdean or Haven though, but may try a park resorts next time. I have just been advised to always stay well clear of Pontins.

Looking forward to seeing what the upgraded caravan will be like as we have always been more than happy with standard.

We have booked a break to a Park Resorts in the Isle of Wight in May, Only ever stayed at Haven before. We have upgraded there too, it seems all caravans above Standard at Park Resorts have heating in bedrooms unlike Haven where only the very top ones do.

For the price you pay via The Sun, it's actually pretty good to be honest. You don't have central heating, just warm air heaters but you do have a gas fire in the lounge area. Some parks don't offer a microwave but to be honest, we have always had one with Parkdean, so I think they can differ depending on where you go. Overall though, they are not bad, but if you want better you pay the extra for it... Still a bargain though, especially if you get a bank hols week or half term (if you have kids).

Thanks for this, i did a holiday last yr and kept it basic it was the waterside in paignton and was a great base, nothing much going on of an evening but the caravan was clean enough but that was a park holiday so never tried a haven one

Booked Haven Combe Haven for May 7th. We went there in October and had a great time - my little boy loved it. We got a free upgrade to Luxury Plus last time so I went for the same this time, but paid! If it's cold the upgrade is worth it just for the heating in the rooms, otherwise it's one small fire in the lounge!

My son will be thrilled to see Rory, Polly and the gang again, and we leave the day after his 4th birthday. Thanks for today's code everyone - didn't have time to get the paper before booking today.

If you have had a confirmation from Worldpay, it seems very likely that your payment went through. I booked my holiday about 5:30 last night and it was fine, and I also got that worldpay confirmation. It isn't a holiday confirmation as that comes directly from the company the park is owned by, but it does mean that you are guaranteed a holiday at the park you requested for those dates. So I would take that as a yes. If you try again it is likely your reference number won't work.

I tried again and the reference number worked and now my date isn't available!! Should I wait and hope the original transaction had worked or am I doomed!
  • Thanks to everyone on here for all your advice, I have just booked 4 nights at my first choice park on first choice date, Parkdean Loo Bay in July.
We wouldnt have been able to afford a holiday this year without this, so many thanks everyone :-)
  • I've booked Chateau des Ormes. Now I am concerned that it might be a tent. Would it specify tent in the booking process if this were the case? Thanks
  • Got Holboune Torbay for 6 of us for a weekend in May....wanted Butlins but they had already gone but definately happy with this. Same holiday on the website is £198!! Even with the extras its only going to about £90. I was sceptical about them until my first one last year and they are such great value for money and you feel smug as getting such a good deal even if it did cause you alot of stress!!!
  • Parkdean Looe bay is brilliant...its a lovely family park and there's so much to do around the area. Rememeber to go crab fishing....the kids absolutely love it and they quite happily spent almost a whole day doing it!!
