Have been cold-called by Homefix 247 to take out cover for plumbing, electrics and boiler. Has anyone had dealings with them or any comments, please?

Thank you.

  • Hey peeps

I signed up back with Homefix 24/7 back in June 2011 and the service received so far has been excellent.

Would definitely recommended the company Homefix, The also saved me £140 on what I was paying to British gas and i know Homefix have website you can check out before signing up which i think is www homefix247 net

    anyways hope this helps

And you don't need this cover anyway. Why would anyone need to insure their 'electrics'?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Thanks for your help, Lewis, but I checked with my Home Insurance and they have Home Emergency Cover, ie boiler, plumbing, electrics etc for much less than Homefix 24/7 or HomeServe, so have changed.

Last year I took out AA car insurance which cost me the princely sum of £19. I also got with this free emergency cover for my home, gas, electricity etc. for a 12 month.

2 months down the line, at 11 oclock one night all my electrics went out, rang them, they sent a contractor out, fixed it within half an hour and saved me a blumming fortune.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

    Hi,
No, I didn't sign up. When I requested, they would only send paperwork if I gave my bank details - which I refused. I checked with my Home Insurance and can have Home Emergency Cover (boiler, plumbing electrics etc) for much less than Homefix 24/7 would charge. It's worth checking your Home Insurance.
    Hope this helps.

I almost signed up with homefix, luckily I twigged they were saying anything to get me to sign up.
Me: does it include a boiler service?
Them: It is a completely 5 star service to match British Gas.
Me: So it does include a boiler service?
them : as I said it is a 5 star service.
    Me: yes or no?
    Them: no.
Me: you tried to deceive me therefore I will never, ever use you. Hangs up phone to husband laughing at my triumph over con artists!

I was cold called by homefix247 and persuaded to sign up to their very comprehensive cover. I cancelled my existing breakdown cover and was pleased to have saved money. A few weeks later my hot water failed on my boiler. When I contacted Homefix they told me I was not covered as it was not classed as an emergency as the boiler had not completely failed and I would have to arrange my own repair at my expense. It seems they can say anything to get your custom and then won't come out to repair a fault as would BG or similar... Also when I checked my home insurance policy I found it covered exactly what Homefix cover in emergencies at no additional charge. I am at present attempting to get a refund but that is not easy at all. Poor service, poor customer relations, STAY WELL CLEAR.

when anyone cold calls.... the power and speed of the net lets you checks what the sales agent is saying.
if the company in question does not give price on their website or even terms and conditions then you should be worried.

i have had customers calling to cancel to go to this outfit..... but sometimes these people have been fed too much garbage and think im spoofing.... your testament im not.....
Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?
