Bit of a topsy turvy day for me today, had a plumber if from first thing this morning as DH had tried to do a bit of DIY...... enough said! Anyway, what should have taked a couple of hours ended up going on till about 3.30, all that time no water  But in the spirit of things, I rolled up my metaphoric sleeves and got on with non water-reliant jobs! So my Christmas decorations are all packed away ready for OH to put in the loft (hoping he doesn't put his foot through the ceiling or anything_pale_)
Ive also deep-cleaned my living room, made a beef goulash in the slow cooker from some nice whoopsied stewing steak I had in the freezer - enough for tea tonight and then 2 lunches tomorrow. My other culinary delight today was a loaf of bread in the breadmaker - I found a packet of wholemeal mix at the back of the cupboard when I was clearing it out. OK, maybe it should have been used by May last year, but its turned out fine :j
I also managed to catch up with a stack of admin I needed to do for a meeting I have on Friday, which to be honest has been a bit of a Frog for a couple of weeks :o feels so much better now its done.
So now I've had chance to catch up with all my water-dependant jobs, washing and ironing is up to date, so Im off for a lovely soak in the bath before a wee bit of TV.
Anyone who needs a hug, feel free to help yourself to one of mine
Don't put it DOWN, put it AWAY! ;)

    Good evening everyone :hello:

The children have been back in school today, so I've been hearing all about the multitudes of presents (mainly electronic) that Father Christmas brought them. I was pleased to wave goodbye to them at 3.15pm, having wound them up considerably! I'm sure that their parents will be delighted to have them back. :D Seriously, they're a lovely bunch of children and think that the sun shines out of my behind. Hey, I'm not going to tell them otherwise am I?! :D :rotfl:

OS wise, yet another load of washing has been done. Supper is in the oven: baked potatoes and sausages, which will have a side dish of baked beans. :o

I did a great "big shop" yesterday where I got loads of yellow sticker meat, which is waiting in the freezer to be used up. Normally, I only buy meat from our lovely butcher but as I haven't been able to get there for various reasons then yellow sticker it is!

Right, have a good evening everyone.

  • Good evening everyone
Hope the day is treating everyone well xx
Been quite busy today making telephone calls and writing letters and DP and I fell quite positive. Its been very wet and windy here today had to have the heating on this afternoon as its LO bath night so like to make sure the house is warm for him. Also got washing drying on radiators.
OH went out this afternoon to pay some money we had for Christmas into LO’s account … at this rate he will have more money than us lol
Taking it easy tonight as I have the doctors tomorrow and it’s the first time I have been out in over a month so probably won’t get a wink of sleep tonight L
Just having tinned soup tonight as we are trying to clear some of our stockpile for new items.
Bought a real Christmas tree in a pot at beginning of December as we thought that as its our first Christmas as a family we would buy one and keep it so that it could grow with LO and when hes older we can put lights on it in the garden. Well OH is getting fed up of picking it up so need to get a new bigger pot for it so trip to garden centre tomorrow.
MIL is coming to babysit LO and three dogs so will be nice to have a family tea when we get home.
So that’s about it for me today… will see how tomorrow goes and hoping I cope ok but OH is always there to support me.
Night everyone and stay safe xxx

    Hi all,

Beautiful morning, now wind is howling like a banshee - hey-ho we,re tucked up in front of the woodburner :)

JG - come on girl - do the dance!!!! Wiggle those hips and get Roo dancing LOL - seriously, rest when you can, won,t be long now x

MONAGRAN- I obviously don,t know your personal circumstances, but have you thought about renting out your house, the rental market is really good at the mo, and as long as you check ref,s etc, will find some great tenants - this should give you some extra income without having to loose too much whilst the selling market is low.

LW - hope your ok - not like you to pop in without giving us the benefit of your wisdom ;) x

Sorry is I,ve missed anyone - hugs all round xx

Roasted chicken thighs for dinner with roasted veg for dinner, was scrummy and some chicken left for OH,s lunchbox tomorrow - i,ve got leftover aubergine/spag bol thingy for tomorrows lunch ...

Anyhoo enough of my rambling - have a fab evening all xx

Islandmaid: I'm coming round to your way of thinking. I have fought shy of going down the renting road because TBH I didn't want the hassle. However, I'm not going to let my really nice house go for a song. The EAs are all panicking because all buyers are hanging on to see if the prices fall even more. I think the EAs are under pressure from their bosses to get things moving. Poor babies.:D:D

    Hi everyone

Been busy today doing this and that, and had a lovely bouquet of flowers off my step father, He normally sends me some just before Xmas to carry on the tradition of my mother sending them to me, but this Xmas I didnt get any and thought he may not be doing it anymore, but when I spoke to him the company he usually uses is no longer and he had to find someone else, he lives down south and I live up north so it was great!!!!

Done some food shopping this afternoon and got a few crafty bits as well, thinking of next Xmas already, and thats about it. Its very windy outside at the moment I can hear it over the TV!!

Hugs and hi fives all round

A late post from me again. Only been back at work 2 days and feel so tired. weather has been awful today too.

os kitchen cleaned, put dry washing away and thats it.

My stepdad got his results today after having a biopsy on mark on his face and it is skin cancer but dr says there is none anywhere else and he has to have it all removed by a plastic surgeon and should get an appointment through within 10 days.

well i'd better get doggie taken for his last walk of the day. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.
