    Good Morning All

LouLou, you need to rest and get over this bug, I seemed to have missed it but both kids had if over the holidays, I dont think it is posible to be positive and pro-active when you are all - you will be again when you are better (((hugs)))

JG - I remember that with both my kids, guess they come when they are ready tough I did have a curry and a long walk just before DS decided to make an appearance.

Everyone has returned to school/work and the house is peaceful today for the first time in ages. Am behind with pretty much everything but should make a dent in it today.

Have so far cleaned cooker hod, hob and the outside of the oven, bread is in the machine and just about to do the first load of washing, have also done the essential office stuff.

Just waiting for a delivery from Amazon then may pop out to Mr T for a few bits we need. Got a £40 giftcard for Xmas so that should cover it, all bank accounts are very low at the moment  and lots of bills due - dont you just love January :o

Anyway, leftover chicken from yesterday will be made into soup which we will have with the hm bread for dinner tonight, loads of Xmas cakes/sweets still leftover from Xmas if people are still hungry.

Off now, have a great day all x
  • Morning all

It's looking like a beautiful day here, no rain but still very windy.

I had a good night sleep, probably cos I spent an hour chatting on the phone to my man before bed :D. I won't get to see him again til Friday probably, sadly I'm counting down the hours! :rotfl:

I've got an admin day for my new group of work kids today, but I am worried that some won't turn up. It's been a nightmare to recruit as it is and I think the Xmas break will have put some off!

I'm off out for food tonight with the girls, just cheap n cheerful. Then need to do a bit of uni work tonight before packing up the flat.

OS wise - WM will go on tonight with bedding, yday laundry needs putting away, need to do some more packing too!

    Have a good day all

So, Yesterday did not do ONE thing on my to-do list, but DID clear and clean the diningroom and cleaned the oven. Did you get that? I CLEANED THE OVEN. Is that a drum roll I can hear? Lovely, lovely Oven Pride, if only I'd known it was that easy!:j
So, when my visitors arrive tomorrow it will be, "Sorry your bed's not made up, you can sit down once you've shifted those papers off the chair, would you like to come and admire my oven?"

I've started the £1-a-day tin, (a tastefully covered Pringle tin) it seems a brilliant idea. Already do a sealed pot challenge. It's lovely to be able to actually watch the savings grow.

Had email from one of my Estate Agents (sounds as though I have a posse of them!) yesterday wanting to drop the price of my house another £25,000. That's £40,000 below his original valuation in July. He is more desperate than I am. Have refused such an almighty reduction and said I will let him know what I decide to do. I'm not desperate to sell but know that DS2 who is living there and looking after things for me would like to move. Any advice? It's quite a nice position to be in but I can't hang on for ever as I need to release some money from the house sale to top up my state pension. Heigh-ho.:(

JulieG: Wasn't it gin and hot mustard baths they use to advise. ( I think you drink the gin, not add it to the bath.):D

LOU: just hang on in there love. Keep reading and talking to us here, we will try to help you through the darkest bits.

    Morning all
Weather here bit blowy but not as bad as yesterday, only patio table blowing across garden we very lucky not to have suffered any damage.
WM finished and washing on airer, DW loaded will go on after dinner. Have given kitchen once over, kids back at school, I am off to work in half an hour. DH arrived back to work safely so am now counting days to Easter when we will see each other again (thank goodness for skype in between).
Today will be first spend day as need to top up mobile credit. Am now waiting for M&S delivery, ordered some presents for birthdays coming up in next few weeks in the Sale, it should be here today, also ordered reduced christmas cards for this Christmas and did it through Quidco so will get little bit back too. Dinner tonight will be whoopsied pizzas that I bought and froze during Christmas shop, I must get a breadmaker so I can make dough and make my own again (last one packed up and I havent replaced yet).
Positive thoughts to all who need them. Look forward to seeing news of JG baby.
    Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

    Morning :)

I've got beef stew in the sc for tonight, and leek & pot soup ready to go in the pressure cooker for lunch-quite organised today :DLog burner is on,but its still cold here in the kitchen so have the heating on for an hour or so.Raining and miserable too.
Yesterday I felt like I was starting with a sore throat so out came the manuka honey and lemon and its much better :j
DGD came last night, she is a little sweetie. Before she went DS2 got her ready for bed and gave her a bottle, she fell asleep so he put her in the car seat and covered her up.She only lives a few minutes away in the car so hopefully they could get her in her cot still asleep :)

We've decided that if we dont get the solicitors details off the 'buyer' by the end of tomorrow,we'll tell him to stuff it.If he can find time to send me a text telling me he's not had time, then he's got time to text the details IYSWIM

Julie- think we're going to sell our car too,and make do with the van for now.Its paid for so at least we could free up some cash to keep us going while the men dont have any work :(

Lou - is it time to see your doc again? You need to banish those thoughts hun, your little lad needs his mum.(((Hugs)))I think a lot of people feel down in Jan after Christmas, its so dark and cold.x

Think I'll go and get stuck into some sewing-the room my machine is in is only tiny and soon warms up .Will take my new Cath Kidston Sew book up for inspiration :D
