EXPIRED Boots Vitamins Discount Error

There was only one energy shot left on the display about getting one free, so I got that and two of the 79p vitamins. However, there were more of the same energy shots on the regular shelf with no sign about them being free, AND they had a different barcode to the one that was a freebie. I left it to avoid a hassle at the till. Does anyone know if all the energy shots work with this deal regardless of barcode?
The one I got that works ends in barcode 46.0 -
As with all glitches, if it doesn't work, just walk away, and say "I'll leave it thank you". Whenever there's a "minus" glitch, it'll work far better if well disguised with other things (unless you use SS tills).
If the current No 7 voucher is immediately followed by another No 7 voucher (as happened a couple of times last year) there is a Wed - Sun "window", when both vouchers with different numbers will work on an SS till. For example, if you buy the wipes (£7), you'll get £3 off the rest of your shopping, or £3 change!
Blimey, we're going to be a healthy lot with all these vitamins!

Sorry, but they absolutely won't take vitamins back under any circumstances. I once sent hubby for some, he got the wrong thing, and I called as soon as he got home and explained he had just bought them and they were unopened. They said no way. It's out of fear they may have been tampered with I guess.
It is worth a try however.
There are laws stating that we cannot resell certain things once they have left the store (of which medicines and vitamins etc are included), however there is nothing to say that we cannot take them back. It just means that we have to dispose of them rather than put them back on the shelf. Boots is really trying to push 'customer care' at the moment, so chances are if you express how disappointed you are that you are left out of pocket due to a simple mistake or something, then it is at the staff's discretion to give you a refund. I'm assuming it is only the cheap vitamins you've bought, so hopefully you might have some luck as it's not a big loss for the store, and worth it to keep you happy as a customer.Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -

I'm not sure if this replies to my question or someone else's, but I was on the SS till, and buying other items. So if it hadn't worked, I would've had to call someone over to void. I didn't feel up to that today. And I wasn't buying enough to get "minus". So maybe you weren't talking to me, lol.0 -
Wasn't too sure how it would pan out today, I was concerned that I'd have minus figure and so made sure that I brought an expensive item to return when I try it again to stock up on face wash. I used my advantage card in the machine but it didn't have any offers that I was going to be able to make good use of, so didn't get any of those. So off I went to raid the shelves I purchased:
6 x MultiVit (3for2) 0.79 each
6 x Vit C (3for2) 0.79 each
6 x Revitalise (3for2) 1.99 each
3 x Aquafresh (3for2) 1.99 each
3 x Essentials Mouthwash .81 = 2.43
No7 for Men Grooming Kit 20.42
3 x Aquafresh Vouchers for .50 = -1.50
The total for my transaction came to £22.50
On the receipt it says "total saving today" of £41.92 (although included in this is the £20.42 from the half price grooming kit)
I'm taking the grooming kit back later in the week...in which case if my maths is correct (which it's probably not) I've scored:
6 x MultiVit
6 x Vit C
6 x Revitalise
3 x Aquafresh (75cl)
3 x Essentials Mouthwash
For a grand total of £2.08
I still don't fully understand how this works and my till receipt makes no sense at all, but will defo be trying to again soon...just got to try to make sure that I don't go in to minus figures at total.
It's nice to share :beer:0 -

The one I got that works ends in barcode 46.
The ones I got today end with 46 and 84:) I found the shots in 3 different aisles. Didn't even think to compare barcodes. Just grabbed them and off I went to the SS tills:D Only managed one transaction on SS. The till ran out of paper, lol. SA made me go to a normal till for the 2nd transaction:eek: I nearly didn't get away with the 2nd transaction. The SA noticed something was wrong when the total to pay seemed low after I handed over my No7 voucher. He started going through all my shopping. I had to act fast and just said "it's because the shots are free" he went "oh, is that why? I thought I'd scanned something incorrectly" I Grabbed my bag and fled:D no Ricola left now...I think I've 'bought' them all:D0 -
Thanks, did this for the first time today, bought 3 boots vit c and 3 of the shots and also some children's parcetamol so I used a voucher for £2.50 off £10 healthcare spend from the recent mailing. Also bought nivea mens moisturiser (on offer at half price) and original source shower gel (half price plus used a 10% off from the ACM). Came to just over £3. SA didn't bat an eyelid!
I think the shots are vile by the way, anyone else actually tried them?!0 -

Is it one vitamin shot free per vitamin bought? If so could you have bought 12 shots as you bought 12 vitamins? There aren't any signs with the shots in my store so just checking what the terms of the offer is0 -
For anyone who got the 3xRicola instead of say 3xVitamin C. Which flavour(s) did you get, some flavours were priced at £1 and some at £1.45, don't want to end up buying 3 that aren't included in 3 for 2 promo. Thanks:)Starting comping middle of October 2011: Wins so far: 2 x concert tickets, a year's supply of Tetley Tea / Tetley mug, F+F 5 shirt with satchel bag:j0
