I took a chad valley toy back to Argos a couple of days ago with no receipt. Sales assistant looked it up, wrote number on the box with a pen, and gave me a refund for the lowest sale price it had been on at (which was a bit annoying as it was at a lower price for one week in November, which isn't when it was purchased). I was very pleased.

I must say that the service at our Argos is absolutely brilliant, sympathetic, reasonable customer services and fast efficient service at all times. They happily carry stuff to the car, the store is tidy and the staff polite. I realise from threads on here that they are not all the same......

And to be fair your attitiude wasn't exactly helpful and this comment wont endear others to help you in future.

You were clutching at straws, you weren't certain where/when/how it was bought and a simple phone call to the buyer could have sorted this instead of wasting 20+ posts to then get the answer by making that call
