Best broadband only option?

Does anyone have any thoughts about a good ISP for broadband only? I intend moving from Virgin as £23.35 a month is too much for non cable broadband only. Virgin were very happy to give me my MAC:cool: - no chance of any sort of reduction, and I've only been with them for about 15 years!!.

Already got line rental and inclusive calls from BT on a good deal - so it's just broadband needed...

Any ideas appreciated!

What is your monthly usage like, do you mind traffic shapping and monthly usage caps?

Take a look at Plusnet if you don't mind traffic shapping as there prices are really good especially if you live in a market 3 area or IDnet, Zen and Be for non shapped lines.

I was paying around the same to VM for 10MB broadband, managed to get a deal with landline thrown in from VM at a pound more or so per month. I am in a cable area. Problem with BB only is that you still need to pay phone line rental. Anyway, Plusnet comes to mind: - looking at around £13 pm inc line rental with a 10GB cap, according to their recent price reduction - but I'm not sure if this is a promo that only lasts you x months: http://www.plus.net/packages/broadband-calls/

The OP is looking for broadband only, that offer does not apply.

Says at the bottom of the page:
This offer is only valid on the Value product when taken as part of a bundle with a homephone product. This offer is not valid on broadband only

However even then, £6.49 a month is about as cheap as it gets if the OP doesn't have a high monthly usage.

o2 is cheap and very reliable, avoid bts
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Impossible to give universal recommendations, as broadband is exchange-specific. Go to https://www.samknows.com and look at your LLU options.

As I said in my post, you still need a phone line. If anyone can point to a non-phone line broadband offer, I'd be interested to see it!

So LLU is out of the question then.
Does not leave much, does it?

    Why do you think that?

The best advice has already been given in post #6 - to check exactly what is available on their exchange, including LLU broadband and then choose a suitable provider depending on their needs.

Can you have LLU broadband while sticking to the BT line?
