Thanks for that....earlier I arranged for a call back via the web site, but they called me back on an automated system just to tell me they were closed!!
Why do you think the offer finished on the 16th...your quotes on post no's 13 and 35 state its the 23rd. Did they withdraw it early?
Yes the offer was withdrawn early - last Friday the 16th instead of tomorrow the 23rd0 -

She also tried to say that the £100 wasn't on any more, but I pointed out that the brochure in their branch clearly gave the end date as the next day. She still seemed to hesitate, but I wanted assurance that they were going to honor their advertising and she was able to say they would.
ah so it is a current account but one that earns 0.1% or 1.5% instead of the 6% - very odd, they should have just keyed the high interest one - same aplication, just different heading
you will get the £100 as long as your application was keyed before 16th0 -
Just wondering if those of you that applied online have had their applications processed?
I applied online w/c 19th Feb, chased it up on the 20th March....when I was told they have a huge backlog but my application would eventually be processed and that i would still get the £100 bonus. As I have still not heard anything I just contact Halifax again only to be told that they finished processing all the online applications last Friday and they have no record of mine! When I queried how this could happen they said maybe there was some info missing from your application so we would have discarded the application. I could re-apply but would not get the £100!!!
To say that I am annoyed is the understatement of the year.....it was a major decision to move bank accounts after almost 30 years and I have given them all my personal information...and where is it now?? They have no idea what has happened to those details. I intend to complain but looks like they will lose out on our custom and me and my OH (and kids) will all be transferring our ISA's elsewhere.0 -
This should have been chased ages ago and the account funded with £100 to activiate the switching process and order cards. Sounds very odd0

I see the RBS is now offering £100 to switch to one of their current accounts. II have been with HSBC for the last 40 years or so, so it is probably about time I changed! I would only be looking at their Interest Paying Current Account, not one of the Royalties Accounts. I have read their terms and conditions and there doesn't SEEM to be anything out of the ordinary, but ..... has anyone any experience of switching to them?
Many thanks.

Quick heads up - As of 13th April Alliance & Leicester is upping its credit interest rate on its Premier Direct Current Account from 6.1% to a leading 6.5% (on first £2,500 only of course). Coupled with the £50 Recommend a Friend deal and the no obligation £25 incentive for a "financial review" added to a free £10 for registering for phone banking, seems to me like a deal!0

halifax offer of £100 finished back in march but still offering really high interest0

OH has had a run in with NatWest due to poor service. A&L looks pretty good - but how good is their customer service? We have an A&L branch nearby.
Also how easy has the switch-over been?
Bro-inlaw is having a big to-dooo with Halifax, so they are off our list!0 -
I had been trying to switch from NatWestOne to a Natwest Bank account and it has proved to be almost impossible even though I have had one of these for over 30 years. They are supposed to be the same bunch but it fact they are acting like they have never heard of each other. It struck me that it would be easier to ask another company to make a switch and they should be able to take care of it all for me. I am also looking at the Alliance and Leicester and understand that this is really easy (other postings) and that it is possible to use a local post office for bank transactions - which sounds really good to me. All I have to do now is get a round tooit- now where did I put that?0

Natwest dont have access to natwestone accounts, RBS are the ones who can see into Natwestone accounts as the sortcode starts with 60 if i remember rightly which is RBS.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no.435- Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :cool:0
