Hi all, I'm expecting my first baby next year...thinking of taking advantage of this offer but no idea what would be the best things to get! I don't want to end up buying things that won't be used or a waste of money. Is there anything that people would advise I stock up on? I was thinking nappies but I have no idea on what size to get! What about the nappy bins or bottle warmer?
    thanks

Personally I think nappy bins and bottle warmers aren't worth the money as there are cheaper alternatives. Nappies and wipes never come in wrong. If your worried about buying too many of one size then I'd buy a few size ones, a few size twos etc. They're handy to store away and if you need to buy the odd pack to fill in the gaps then it's not too much of an incurred cost and it's nice to know you have some bargains in the cupboard. The wipes are always worth getting on a deal IMO because they're handy from birth to adult! Lol! I'm still waiting on a glitch like there was on the johnsons ones a few months back where they worked out at 50p a pack! :)

Nappy bin - waste of time, you usually get a voucher for a free on in a bounty pack, it may have changed now though. Nappy sacks are £1 for 100 and do a very good job.

Bottle warmer 50/50 - I used one with my 1st baby for night feeds, it worked fine but could take a while to warm up. Then someone told me a trick they used, and I never used that bottle warmer again. Basically make bottles up before bedtime, with boiling water. Wrap the bottles in a towel, close by, but not to close that baby could get hurt by boiling bottle, then after a few hours when baby is next due a silly o clock feed the bottle should be cool enough to just grab and go.

This saved me many a long cold trek to the kitchen to warm up a bottle.

  • Asda nappy bags are only 30p for 75 at the moment and are a lot better than the thin nappy bags.

You might wanna hang fire on the wipes. I stocked up on pampers and huggies pure but had a few johnsons.quickly found out my lil guy had a skin reaction with johnsons. Weird cos so many people swear by them but glad i didnt get too many. On the other hand anything i didnt need i knew enough other new mums to swap stuff with. Very mse!

As for wipes Im 3 kids down and only ever used pampers or huggies, cost me a fortune for 3 kids. A few months ago, I discovered Tesco value wipes.

Get over the fact that their value wipes, ignore the branding. Baby wipes are literally you throwing money away. I so wish I had discovered these wipes 10 years ago when I had my 1st, i would have saved thousands.

They are only, well, they go up and down in price like a yo yo, cheapest has been 12p a packet most expensive 46p a packet, i now stock up when there 12p. They are very moist, not to thin, not to thick, and my daughter hasnt had one case of nappy rash since using them. I even use them to remove my make - up.

At least give them a try before you spent a fortune on the expensive wipes.
