i dont think it would be grounds to decline a claim, many people can easily get this wrong...they may say the premium should be £y instead, which presumably wont be a problem for you.0

Not at all, I'd happily pay that. I'm just stressing out though, worst case scenarios and all that.0

How many miles did you do from May 10 to May 11?0

Sorry to bump this again but it's eating me up.0

Just say you didn't do all the miles yourself,a friend(who is insured to drive any other car) did some of the mileage.0

I'm not sure they would buy that, and I'd be a nervous wreck trying to get that lie through.0

How is the insurer going to prove how many miles you have done?
Only by comparing the mileage on the last MOT (in September?) and checking the current mileage on the clock. Presumably less than 5k in 3 months? I guess they can get hold of earlier records but will they bother to do that?
Pro-rata for 12 months it will come up higher than 5k but very harsh if the insurer pulls you up on it. Very difficult for the policyholder to accurately predict unless they do the same journeys every year.
You may get asked why you chose 5k annual mileage. Is there a reason for going over?
Who are you insured with? Some insurers are more aggressive than others when it comes to reducing their liability.
Nothing more you can do other than wait for your insurer to process the claim. Be prepared to come up with some explanations.Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0
