 Christmas decorations down and about to do daily accounts. I might even do a real list tomorrow but will probably just to bare minimum until the children go back on Monday.

Very cold and windy here so i'm not walking the dog again today - nearly got blown over last time!

Poohbear - glad you're ok and the fire wasn't worse xxx

Ironing has been collected, so that's more stuff out of the house, even if only temporarily... and my last work call of the day has been cancelled, so once this one is done I can have a break and maybe do something exciting... like hoovering :p

gandb It sounds like you are having a day like me. I hope you have managed to get it all sorted and cleaned up and that it didn't damage anything important.

All my family are safely home and that is much more important than the chimney. We have turned the boiler off so are keeping warm near the wood burner.

Ruthy I wanted DH to go back to work so I could sit and watch Downton Abbey Christmas programme as DH hates it.

Where has the day gone? I've just dropped DS1 at work and loaded some of the stuff for the scrap store, charity bin in the car.

Just having a cuppa before thinking about tea and taking DS3 to athletics. DS2 has come home from school with a temperature and feeling unwell, hope it doesn't develop into anything yucky.

    Glad you're ok Pooh.

I can now see the floor :j very slow progress is being made. You can't move on the landing though and my bedroom is full of boxes. I have to stop now to put the rabbits to bed and get tea started. I will be going back and doing some more then.

Not doing very well although about to do the kids bedrooms and bathroom in a mo as children are going in the bath. Those rooms are not too bad as were cleaned well Christmas week.

I have washed my curtains and shrunk them a bit too far. After some great advice elsewhere I have moved the curtain hooks to make them lower and ironed the life out of them. They don't look too bad now.

Thanks for the list, I feel organised without having to even think about it, and for that I am grateful :)

    Afternoon all

Recycling day today so that's the green crate emptied and all the cardboard gone (and it didn't blow away!).

One load of clothes washing done and I've washed my big tablecloth. All draped round indoors though.

A few cupboards tidied where things were just pulled about over the holiday. All bits of food used up that needed to be. The fridge looks a bit bare now but I know we don't really need anything.

    Back to work tonight :(

Blimey it's nearly 5 o'clock where has today gone??

I have a headache brewing which isn't good as they can wipe me out, hopefully it won't develop into a big one

    Today I have;
been to drs, post office (nearly got blown away and was terrified where I had to walk under trees)
    loaded TD
had a long chat to DD about moving out (budgeting advice mostly )
prepared a beef casserole which I can smell (nomnom)
now going to load the WM
    take some headache pills
    and stir the casserole
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
