Firstly, nice to see you've found you're way over here Jon, and well done for reducing your debts. Going to have to keep a look out for your episode on BBCThree.

I agree with a few of you on this one, Spendaholics does seem to be a bit heavy on the phsycological stuff. They could do well with spending more time on the practical aspects as you've mentioned, snowballing, sorting out lower APRs on cards etc.

I remember watching the aforementioned episode a while back. I enjoy spending money on my car, although I can't see myself spending money I don't have on it. Problem is, once you fork out for all these toys for your pride and joy, you can't just sell the car and expect to make all the money back. The only way to make the money back would be to remove all the mods, get the car back to standard and sell the toys off individually.

Oh yeah, forgot about Bank of Mum and Dad - now that was good, is it coming back?

I missed the show last night but I do love to watch it. I agree there is more emphasis on the psychological stuff, but to be honest I think that psychological issues can be the root of most people's problems with money.

Hello to Stliojohn .... are you going to stick around on here?

    Hello all!

Well yes I am still here, check in everynow and then.

Having a bit of a struggle last month and this month due to a little relapse being my gf birthday, but it happens.

Still got quite a lot to do, but as I said on the programme at the end i am planning for it all to be paid off on 28th July 2007.

Not long to go, but still very close.

The stilo is up for sale which is good for me as means i can get some money back, It just needs to go.

So yeah all in all its all going well.

Although need to balance transfer my credit card as Tescos minimum payment is killing me atm, any idea who I can balance transfer to?

    Jon

Wow, paid up by 28/7/2007!

Well that will be impressive and show the suckas you can turn around things ;)

Saw that barryboys slated the stilo advert  it happens though. it did look like a cool project.

So if you do manage to pay off, what will you have? are you still driving, enjoying yourself, and hanging with car mates?

    Then what will you do?

    ---

I spent a full day on here, with my light bulb day a few days back, however I have my garaged project to finish (well get on the road), and a few buying commitments, some rare seats and a birthday party. And although I'm selling my second car that drives thats a hoot it will be funding my garage one. thinking about my solution, but cant do a lot just yet.... :o:confused: :rotfl:

a couple of weeks ago Alvin was on the business slot on bbc breakfast.

i used to love that programme.

i find with spendaholics some of them mysteriously have an easy solution to clearing their debts ie, rich family or selling off their car and they tend to be single 30 somethings.

i'd like to see a more varied audience ie, young, old, single, married with kids without kids etc.

the presenters are dull too - the bloke just has a monotone voice wheras our martin is more enthusiastic and personable.

Eating out and socialising REDUCED to £125 per month.

That's a kebab every day of the month, isn't it............. Hardly cutting back!

I love this programme, but it always annoys me when they reduce the budget like this, £125 for sociallising, £60 for clothes/shoes a month etc.

I would kill for £185 to waste each month on take-outs and clothes. Last night the guy was still left with -£188 at the end of the new budget, but was allowed £60 for clothes! Madness!
