Welcome to DFW!
You were a brave lad to go on that programme, but have a look through these boards for some good advice at reducing outgoings further. I think most people's problems with TV debtbusting is that it all seems so easy, when we all know it isnt. Anyways, best of luck clearing the rest of the debt!0 -
Hi Stilojon! I saw your episode and all I can say is, I think you should stick around on this forum because it is THE best place to get out of debt.
I think you're the first Spendaholics subject to post on this forum, too - though I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrongOperation Get in Shape

No, the reason to show the emotional etc side is that it is more entertaining. That's why trigonometry is not shown on prime-time television despite being very useful.
Trig??? Useful??? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Seriously though, to stilojon, stick around and join our community. We all know how hard it is and that is why we scream at the tv. But then we come back to our little DFW home here and get on with the job in hand, making small steps in the right direction. I hope you continue making good progress and keep posting now that you are here!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. raq wrote:whilst we where watching the programme, how come Jay had the figure of £54k in big bold letters. Where did this figure spring from ???
If you mean the figure in the boy racer episode, it was the total amount spent on his 3 cars over 2years ( i think it was two years, but you get the idea!)

Stilojon wrote:Well hello all.
I thought I might browse Google and see what has come up about me a few intresting topics it has to be said.
Thanks for any support and that, and I no there may be a few questions out there about my story.
I did wish that they put more of the money advice into the show, but they cut som much out it was unreal. It was mainly focused on my mental crap which was what I didnt want to happen, as its to personal to me and didnt want to air my dirty laundry on national TV.
In regards to the cars and all that, the Mr2 and the frontera are now gone, and I have managed to reduce my debt from £17,000 to £13,500 in just 3 months, have been working my !!!! of earning some serious bonuses and have even had time to save like anything with my online banking e-savings account which works so well.
So anyway, anyone got any questions I would be more than happy to reply to.
Jon
Can I ask, did you manage to stay off the fags?
Also, does Jay actually show the process of going through the budgeting off-screen (as she doesn't do much on-screen).0 -
No Jay didnt really go through much of the financial stuff to be honest.
Jay is just there for the TV, it was mainly the producer and director who helped me out with that, both of which I am in constant contact with and have become very friendly with.
As for the fags, have not touched one since.
What you didnt se ehowever is how messed up it made me.
That night I got back to London Bridge station a trembling wreck and I had one on the platform and I was very !!!!ed off with myself, then i got home had dinner and had another one.
But the next morning I woke up panicing going balls it didnt work, so went to work really stressed out and I was moaning and winging and everything, and I was stressing at my boss saying cant believ i smoked, not until then i realised it was 5pm and I hadnt had one all day.
Was proper mental, never had one after that, but it did make me a bit weird for a few days, but well worth it!
