I know this is a silly question but WHY ? and don't blame BT .....
(and you're not the only one who has said this)
no reason to whether new thread or old thread, link to old working or not ... BACKWARDS ?
OR are you like Aesop is (was?) ? With your settings "newest first" so that the threads are UPSIDE DOWN :rotfl:
Aesop said "I changed my settings so I always see the newest post first. Rather than having to go to the end of the thread to look for new posts.
Which is odd anyway, but more so if you STILL DO NOT search for the last post you actually read and pick up the "conversation" from where you "left it" and follow on in sequence.
Otherwise you're reading answers to questions that haven't been asked yet, especially confusing if answers appear before questions that have been asked based on a previous answer, and an alternative or repeat answer appears in the middle of the two.
EVEN IF you do search and find where "you left the conversation" in this UPSIDE DOWN world, it's a very awkward way of reading the thread ....
... the sequence of posts/chat is UP the page... so you read posts at the bottom first scrolling upwards towards the top ... but you have to read each individual post in the opposite direction, top to bottom (like we read anything). It's like reading a book where the chapters are reversed .... at the end of chapter 2 is the start of chapter 1 and to continue reading not only do you have to go back all the pages of chapter 2 but also all those of chapter 3 to get to its start :rotfl: if you get my driftAWKWARD.
(Hate to say this BUT I will .... seeing pandoras' post 2 back :rotfl: .... sounds like a BLONDE way of doing things)
And I don't see the point of the inverted thread to help find "new posts"
In my Subscribed Threads list ALL threads that have had any new posts since I last visited the thread are in BOLD and there is a little "v" button top left that takes you directly to the 1st of them. SIMPLES :rotfl:
I changed to newest first recently which makes my life easier(couldnt quite work out the subscribe mallarky,i keep subscribing to threads but they never appear)
What i do is scroll down the page to the bottom(or the last post i read) then scroll upwards while im reading. So im reading in the right order BUT i know where the newest posts are.:D
Its kinda useful if im on my phone as i dont have to keep jumping through pages to find the last post i read, especially if im away a few days!:)0 -
I feel awful- I have ruined my money saving already and it is only the 2nd January. I got a Tesco gift card for Christmas as a thank you, it had £40 on it. Checked iit this morning and took it off the Christmas card and put it in my purse. Checked it when I got to Tesco (a nervous habit), but when I got to the till it had gone.
I was in a real panic, I paid for all my goods and other people helped me search. I've turned my bag out and can't find it and we looked all over the floor in case I didn't out it away again properly when I checked i had it on me.
Tesco have taken my details in case it gets handed in- but I don't hold out much hope.

You are AUTOMATICALLY SUBSCRIBED to any thread that you've ever made a post in.
Just click here >>> http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/subscription.php
On a "normal" (default) oldest post first thread the NEWEST posts are ALWAYS on the LAST PAGE ... and there is a direct link to this on the thread heading - just click on "Last Page"
But if you are away for 5 days and there have been 200 posts since your last visit, then the "last post you read" is 5 pages away (at 40 per page) OR 10 pages (at 20) from the start of the thread where the newest post is ... just as it's the same for the Last Page being 5 (or 10) pages adrift from last read post if it's the normal way round.
You still have to navigate 5 pages of "new unread posts" whatever end you start at

As in CHECKED the value of it ? ONLINE ?
So you have the CARD NUMBER then ?
Can't Tesco perhaps block its use if you request it giving them this number ?
Can you get the receipt that went with it from whoever gave it to you so that you can then re-enable a new card with the same amount - given it's not been spent and is blocked with £40 credit still on it - can't see Tesco would/could do this without it - this surely will have the full card number the amount was credited to. (so if you don't already have it)

It was one of those cards that you give as a gift, I believe my relative paid cash for it and she told me how much was on it. I don't have the number of it nor could I possibly ask for any sort of receipt- I just can't face telling her I lost it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. When you say checked it do you mean you checked the amount on it or just checked you had it? If you checked the balance of it then the no should still be in where you checked the balance on the computer that you used before. If you start typing in the no the rest should appear, assuming this is the only Tesco Gift Card you have had? All Tesco Gift Cards start with 5045Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
