    Morning All! :)

Just had the best news ever! DD1 got a C in her first GCSE - Chemistry :j (because she took the foundation paper that was the highest mark she could get).

So pleased as she has sooooooooooooo stuggled at school. Even in year 3 she couldn't read at all and therefore found everything else so difficult. Also she has a problem with her memory so cannot retain anything for very long. She has hated being on special needs and, especially in primary school, often referred to herself as dumb . Her spelling is still pretty awful but I'm sooooooooo proud of how much she has progressed.

Hopefully this will spur her on for the rest of her GCSE's later this year and next year.

Congratulations to your DD and you also as I am sure you have spent alot of time supporting and encouraging her:j:j:j:T:T:T:j:j:j

When reading your post nearly made me cry I was so moved by your pride in your DD1. As I say to my kids it's about achieving the best you possibly can knowing you have tried your hardest thats all we can ask of our kids. I know what you mean abt the special needs as DS3 is in the same year as your DD1 and he hated being seen as different and dumb when he is not, he is statemented but has been out of school since July and is now waiting to start a special residential school just hope he is going to be able to catch up  esp if sitting parts of exams now. These moments mean so much more to us parents when our child has had to fight that much harder than other children who find it easier. So have a wonderful celebration and may there be many more to enjoy on the way:j:j:j:A

Happy Birthday chattmum, hope your day is improving and you feel a bit better now. Wish I could post one of the nice pictures that others seem able to do but I am not that techie. Sending hugs your way anyway.
Just make sure you put the birthday money separate from housekeeping/bills and make sure you spend it on something you want. I always keep birthday money in an envelope as it used to get used on house stuff, but not any more. Still got some from last month, waiting for new spring clothes in the shops and time to browse and then will treat myself.

Feeling a bit tearful again myself today. Had a phone call from dad this morning as his health is deteriorating again. He is also tearful as he is frustrated at not being able to do stuff and hates asking me to do things as he puts it "a man should be able to do". Just breaks my hear to see him like this.
Off out for a walk as I feel in need of fresh air to clear my head.

Been to town today, first time since before Christmas...parked at T's and walked in....got the Mail in T's and hubby used his keyring Tesco card and paid cash and the till gave him, 50 points McCain jackets, 75p Lenor, and a £7 off £50 cond spend, all for 55p spend.......used my moc in Superdrug for the handwash, had some nailpolish remover too, she explained she could only knock off the £4.79., was quite happy with that.Boots would only take moc for the NNE,( so 2 for £8) but the till gave a £5 off No7...got the strong nail stuff I use for £2 instead of £7...into M&S....got 2 lots of the £6 meal deals( apple pie/steak pie and potato croquettes) and other stuff...SA said she had till full of the £5 Mail mocs....with reductions paid £20 for £30 of food....
Came home to the San Miguel 4 pack moc and the McCain jacket moc,( have not printed them, am requesting mocs in the post these days, as def only having 1 as per T&C's , so using their ink not mine) and the free 4 pack of Rice Krispie Squares from FB....waiting for the Cobra 4 pack moc ( or maybe it will be the beer , who knows) and the 2 Cobra glasses won on their FB comp....you never claimed your seat that I booked for you Doc, or you might have got these....

Yes, looking back now it was very funny, although didn't feel so at the time. Would have made a good 'you have been framed' clip.:rotfl:

Would have been good if it had been filmed you could have made megabucks from your wombling then!!!(isn't it something like £200 a video)

    chocolate_cake.jpgHAPPY BIRTHDAYchocolate_cake.jpg

You know you can always have a moan here.I re-iterate what everyone has said men just don't think the way we women do(sorry jeff)
I do have an idea for you though, especially if this is a common thing. Why not get yourself a tin and put the £20 in that.Squirrel it away for a you thing.Stops it being spent on bills if its not in your purse.
Oh and if its a coat that you are after there I saw some pretty decent ones in peacocks today(if you have one near) and they were on sale so quite cheap.maybe your £20 could get one after all...
